We are seeking experienced Quality Control (QC) Specialists for Portuguese (Brazil) to join our growing team. The selected candidates will be responsible for performing non-linguistic and linguistic quality checks on clinical research documents and other life sciences-related content. This role is crucial to ensuring that our high standards of accuracy and compliance are maintained across all translated materials.
Responsibilities- Quality Control (QC): Perform rigorous quality control checks on translated documents to ensure accuracy, consistency, and adherence to client-specific guidelines.
- Non-Linguistic QC: Review and verify the formatting, layout, and non-linguistic elements of documents in Portuguese (Brazil).
- Content Specialization: Handle specialized content areas such as In Vitro Diagnostics, Biology, Chemistry, Medical Devices, Patient-facing materials, Pharmacovigilance, Pharmacy, Scientific Publications, and Investigator-facing documents.
- CAT Tools: Utilize CAT tools such as XTM/Phrase to carry out QC tasks. Familiarity with integrated QA checks within these tools is essential.
- Client-Specific Applications: Adhere to the specific requirements of client-provided applications and tools.
- Capacity Management: Ensure daily availability and maintain the expected capacity of reviewing 5,000+ weighted words per locale, per week.
- Documentation: Use Microsoft Office, particularly the Track Changes function in Word, to document and communicate QC findings.
- Collaboration: Work closely with the project management team to ensure timely delivery of high-quality translations.
Requirements- Minimum of 6 months of experience in localization, with a focus on quality assurance and quality control.
- Experience with CAT tools (XTM, Trados, MemoQ, Phrase, or similar). No OmegaT, as it is considered obsolete.
- Experience with QA tools like Xbench, Verifika, or integrated QA checks within CAT tools.
- Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, with a particular focus on the Track Changes function in Word.
- Language Skills:
- Advanced level in English (C1 or higher), with fluency in either Portuguese (Brazil)
- Location: Candidates must be located in the Latin American time zone. We are not considering candidates based in Europe/Asia.
- Availability: Must be able to commit to at least 4-5 hours of availability per day. We are not considering candidates who will be working part-time or are shared with other service lines.
