Job Summary:Raytheon is seeking a Radar Sensor Systems, Business Development Executive to coordinate business development activities and create new opportunities to drive top line growth for the Naval Power Requirements and Capabilities organization. The BDE will lead business development efforts and coordinate customer engagements. The BDE will be responsible for delivering new business solutions and coordinating customer engagements between Raytheon Business Development Executives (BDEs) / Sub Strategic Business Units (SSBUs) and U.S. Navy Customers on airborne radars, sensors and related systems.
The Raytheon RSS BDE will be responsible for guiding cross functional business teams to develop strategies and a pipeline of qualified opportunities within RSS product line. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing relationships with senior customers, guiding and participating in captures / pursuits over a five-year period to achieve the company's domestic and international strategic business goals, generating annual bookings with measurable growth over five (5) years, and identifying new business opportunities aligned with the company's strategic growth and long-range plan. The RSS BDE will develop and maintain close United States (U.S.) Department of Defense (DoD), and international customer relationships, and is responsible for direct support to Raytheon businesses for: specific strategy efforts, identifying and validating opportunities, tracking pipeline opportunity details, knowledge of customer requirements, conducting market studies and forecasting reviews, winning pursuits (e.g. closing deals as a member of pursuit team), and participating in win/loss analysis after a campaign. This person will also be responsible for interfacing with Raytheon leaders, senior military service members, international customers, and government leaders within the U.S. to fully understand and assess potential opportunities. The RSS BDE will represent Raytheon externally with customers and internally as a voice of the customer to ensure that key pursuits are won and the company achieves its bookings plan and growth targets. As the person who is responsible for identifying future opportunities for the RSS business, this person will provide timely intelligence, including realistic assessments of business opportunities, partnerships, competitive landscapes, market landscapes, and identifying current and future buying habits of the customer. The RSS BDE reports directly to the Raytheon, Naval Power Customer Accounts Executive.
This position is an onsite role in McKinney, TX.
Responsibilities to Anticipate:- Develop customer, competitor, and market understanding for assigned market sub-segment
- Establish relationships with Raytheon program managers and government and military decision-makers
- Conduct primary and secondary research to determine DoD and International customer needs and generate business leads by developing relationships and identifying and qualifying new opportunities
- Create and implement business strategies and actions within the RSS Product Line that creates, identifies, develops, and qualifies profitable new business opportunities that grow the Raytheon business
- Develop and implement multi-level and multi-dimensional customer contact plans
- Develop a prioritized pipeline of opportunities that is valued at least four to five times the revenue of the business unit
- Analyze customer information and develop customer hot buttons, key performance parameters, and opportunity price-to-win
- Leverage capabilities of multiple functions and customer access to create, identify, develop, and qualify opportunities
- Develop opportunity capture plan, lead overall Capture Management activity (across multiple portfolios and capture managers), for highly competitive RSS opportunity set
- Work closely with capture managers to provide customer knowledge and strategic support for capture and proposal process
- Capture key customer and competitive knowledge and share it across the organization
- Conduct internal and external customer briefings including Raytheon IPDS Gate Reviews
- Position will require ~50% domestic and international travel
Basic Qualifications:- Typically requires a Bachelor's Degree and minimum 14 years prior relevant experience, or An Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 12 years' experience
- 10+ years of relevant experience working with US DoD markets
- Experience working with radar systems, ideally Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance systems and mission applications and CONOPS
- Experience working with U.S. DoD procurement, fiscal and regulatory environments. Working experience with defense system acquisition processes and procedures.
- Experience in strategic planning and ability to analyze and evaluate missions, requirements, technologies, and capabilities
- 10+ years in progressively responsible leadership positions
- Business development experience, especially in developing critical relationships at a senior level
- Existing Security Secret Clearance required; able to be SCI cleared
- U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance
Preferred Qualifications:- Knowledge of/experience with Raytheon Capture/Gate/Proposal process
- General management or program management experience
- Knowledge of Raytheon's product and services
- MBA
- Excellent initiative and experience partnering with geographically dispersed units
- Exceptional ethical standards beyond reproach
- Excellent interpersonal skills with special focus on cross-cultural issues; ability to successfully manage sensitive political issues
- Excellent communication skills in writing and verbal communication
- Experience guiding complex Gate-3 development activity in front of Raytheon senior leadership
- Active TS/SCI clearance

The salary range for this role is 171,000 USD - 343,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
