Payment Solutions Engineer role is at the forefront of driving innovation and enhancements of our Linux based Payment Systems. Your responsibilities will include build coordination, enhancement development, system testing, validation, and in-restaurant implementation and enforcement of payment technologies. Collaborating with various IT functions and management teams, you will ensure the smooth integration of payment solutions into Wendy's infrastructure to support business initiatives. This role will be part of a dynamic team focused on advancing innovative payment initiatives across Wendy's restaurant and digital technologies.
While you can perform the duties of this role mostly remote, the selected candidate would be required to come into our office in Dublin, OH as needed for testing purposes a few times throughout the month. The preferred candidate will live in the Central Ohio area. #LI-Hybrid Responsibilities - System Testing and Validation: Conduct thorough testing and validation of payment systems, enhancements, and configurations to ensure optimal performance and adherence to business requirements. Identify and troubleshoot any issues or discrepancies, working closely with cross-functional teams and external partners to implement necessary fixes and achieve seamless functionality.
- In-Restaurant Configuration Enforcement: Execute in-restaurant firmware updates, hardware conversions, certificate, and access provisioning, ensuring consistent and compliant configuration of payment systems. Maintain high system performance and security across restaurant locations, enhancing the overall operational efficiency.
- Collaborative Support and Troubleshooting: Collaborate with various IT functions, including Digital, Restaurant, Security, Networking, and Infrastructure, to support and troubleshoot payment technologies and related projects, fostering effective communication and alignment of objectives. Provide SME guidance and recommendations to address technical challenges promptly, ensuring reliable payment system operations. Contribute to the creation of training and technical documentation, ensuring comprehensive support for both new and existing components.
- Evaluation and Assessment: Evaluate and assess the suitability of Payment Technologies and other solutions during the design, development, and testing phases. Ensure alignment with Wendy's infrastructure and business initiatives to meet organizational goals and drive innovation in payment systems.
- On-Call Rotation: participate in 24x7 on-call rotation and escalation workflow as needed, such as occasional evenings and weekends
What we expect from you - Education: Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related IT field OR 5+ years in IT related activities with emphasis on system design, security, system administration, and networking
- Knowledge of Information Technology system concepts, Linux operating systems, and strong computer applications experience
- Understanding of payment systems and related network protocols and security concepts, payment processing technologies, and payment industry standards highly desirable
- Ability to identify technical and security issues and collaborate cross-functionally and with external vendors to develop and deploy remediation options
- Proficiency in coordination and execution, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Flexibility working in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment; quick learner
- Strong technical aptitude and desire to develop more in-depth technical knowledge and understanding

The base pay range for this position is listed below. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and budget for the open position and also may vary depending on the candidate's job-related knowledge, skills, and experience, among other relevant factors. This range does not include an estimated value for any benefits, bonus, or other incentives that may be applicable based on position.* The target annual bonus for this role is 7.5% of annualized base salary, based on actual company and personal performance. Director and above roles are also eligible to participate in the Company's long-term incentive award program.
