Overview of RoleThe Solutions Engineer operates the same as the Project/ Program Manager. We seek a solutions engineer to join our Field Technical Solutions (FTS) team in San Jose, CA. This position entails collaborating with dynamic customers, North American Sales, and TSMC Headquarters in Taiwan. You will report to the Deputy Director of the FTS team. This role will help our customers design their next-generation products by understanding their needs and defining, promoting, and enabling the best solution. TSMC operates in a hybrid work schedule with three days in the office.
Responsibilities - Build relationships and trust with customers
- Fully understand customers' products, roadmaps and technical needs in order to find an optimum solution for both the customer and TSMC
- Drive multiple teams to develop competitive and creative technical solutions, while ensuring efficient use of TSMC's resources
- Collect feedback from customers on their concerns and needs
- Provide local technical support together with domain experts as required
- Ensure clear and accurate external and internal communication
Minimum Qualifications - Bachelor's or master's degree in Electrical Engineering or similar with 10-15 years of industry experience in planar and/or Finfet technology
- High level understanding of semiconductor technology, design methodology, EDA and IP
- Design experience and Technology knowledge in Advanced/ Mature semiconductor Process
- Proven problem solver with a strong technical background
- Effective presenter and communicator with strong oral and written abilities
- Able to effectively position and present technology to different audiences
Preferred Qualifications - Domain knowledge in one or more of the following areas:
- Advanced/ Mature Process Knowledge: logic technology, memory technology, advanced device engineering, reliability engineering.
- Design Knowledge: Digital, Analog, RF / Mixed-Signal, MEMS, CIS, SiPho, and/or HV/BCD
- Able to lead in-depth technical discussions, ask questions and be a good listener
- Self-motivated with an innately curious personality and a desire to learn

Pay Transparency StatementAt TSMC, your base pay is only part of your overall total compensation package. At the time of this posting, this role typically pays an annual base salary between $115,500 and $217,500 per year. The range displayed reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hires. Actual pay may be more or less than the posted range. Factors that influence pay include the individual's skills, qualifications, education, experience and the position level and location.
