The Vision
Data Analytics has been identified as crucial to delivering strategic objectives that will guide and support our operational performance & other business functions to deliver a high quality of service to our customers, reduce operational cost and help drive profit growth.
The focus is looking at internal & external data sources to draw insights through delivery of dashboards or bespoke analysis and support the implementation of business change based on these insights.
The Role
The role holder has responsibility for the development of processes used to monitor claim performance, such as production of regular dashboards and datasets used to support deep dive analysis, ensuring best practice data standards. The successful candidate will:
- Gather, cleanse, and build usable data sets from varying sources of data.
- Provide data driven narratives that are action oriented and focused on the impact to claims performance.
- Be the first to understand fluctuation in claims metrics and be able to drill down, diagnose and report back to the business in a simple consumable way.
Key responsibilities
- Lead and support the development of claims data insights and strategies.
- Develop, operate, support, and continually optimise common data sets that can support rapid discovery and deployment of claims data trends.
- Take responsibility for the development and delivery of specific monthly Claims MI reports, managing the overall process of delivery and taking responsibility for data, analysis, and communication to stakeholders, including clear and actionable insight through advanced analysis and interpretation of multiple complex data sets.
- Engage with the business intelligence and MI teams to ensure best practice, influence, and contribute to the development of claims strategic vision for data usage within the company.
- Embody and amplify the IQUW values in all aspects of day-to-day activity ensuring that all interactions and engagements are carried out with the highest ethical and professional standards and that all work is accomplished with quality and in accordance with IQUW values.
Essential qualifications, skills and experience
- Highly numerate, paying attention to detail and accuracy.
- Comfortable using data to investigate and answer business problems, including the extraction, manipulation, and visualisation of data via dashboards.
- Experience in using a range of software applications for data analysis, including Excel and code-based solutions (e.g. SQL, Python).
- Good written & verbal communication skills to present data insights back to stakeholders
- Strong interpersonal skills to build and maintain value adding relationships.
- Team player who brings out the best in others.
- Highly organised with a clear ability to prioritise and deliver on allocated tasks.
