Position Overview:
The Business Development Specialist will be a key contributor to the New Business Development (NBD) Team. This role will be responsible for collaborating and coordinating with the NBD team to help drive critical initiatives, partner with the team to drive an effective communication plan and ensure the smooth execution of key projects.
Primary Responsibilities:
• Performance Analysis:
o Monitor key performance metrics and provide recommendations for areas of improvement, growth opportunities and risks
o Participate in review of sales results, annual planning and forecasting processes
o Partner with analytics team to interpret complex data sets to tell stories
o Develop an organized set of conclusions/recommendations that can be digested by a broader audience
• Relationship Management:
o Collaborate with Sales, Marketing and Supply Chain to support/optimize innovation launches, merchandising standards and promotional strategies
• Communication and Stakeholder Engagement:
o Coordinate communication across various internal teams and departments to ensure alignment and transparency
o Prepare reports, and communications to ensure clear and effective messaging across the organization
o Coordinate meetings, workshops and events, facilitating open dialogue and fostering a collaborative culture
• Market Intelligence:
o Stay informed about industry trends, market dynamics and competitive landscape related to Newell Brands' product categories
o Leverage this knowledge to identify opportunities for growth and innovation
• Cross-Functional Coordination:
o Foster strong relationships and facilitate collaboration across various teams, including sales, marketing, supply chain and product development
Key Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in business, marketing or a related field
• Proven experience with 1-3 yearsin planning, project management or a similar role
• Basic understanding of retail operations, merchandising and category management within the consumer packaged goods industry
• Foundational analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex data
• Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively with stakeholders at all levels
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to operate in a matrixed team environment with deadlines and deliverable dates shifting
• Proficiency in using Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) and project management tools
