Job Description
Role Context
- Identity & Fraud (ID&F) is one of the most vibrant business units of Decision Analytics, currently undergoing a Digital Transformation across its product line-up.
- This is a particularly exciting time to join ID&F as we continue to decompose several monolithic applications into microservices and deploy them into the cloud.
- As an ID&F Senior Mainframe Developer, you will be part of a high-performance engineering team that delivers the product backlog of ID&F’s market-leading Identity Services platform.
- You will work closely with other Software Engineers to both maintain existing systems and build our cloud-native microservices and web applications using the latest technologies and architectural patterns.

Qualifications
Essential Technical Skills
- You have a BSc in Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics or equivalent degree.
- 5 to 7 years of experience in IBM Mainframe Application Development.
- Experience of working in an agile environment using a Scrum or Kanban approach.
- Experience of the full development lifecycle.
- Ability to write clean, scalable code, applying design patterns and best practices.
- You will have extensive knowledge of the following technologies and software engineering best practices.
- COBOL
- CICS
- JCL
- VSAM
- DB2
- Tools such as Changeman, CA-7, JIRA and File Manager.
- Knowledge of Assembler/PL 1 would be useful.
Experience in building web-services in CICS would be useful.
Essential Soft Skills
- You work well independently as well as collaborating with others as part of large cross-functional teams.
- You have good communication skills with the ability to explain solutions to technical and non-technical audiences.
- You will have a strong work ethic and willingness to ‘go the extra mile’ to adhere to deadlines and team commitments.
- You are an enthusiastic learner, keen to keep up to date with software engineering best practices, technologies and architectural patterns.
