Job Description Qualifications:
The Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) organization, SI&WS Maritime & Weapons System Division is seeking an Associate RF Hardware Design Engineer (Level 2) to join our DRT (Digital Receiver Technology) team in Germantown, MD. Our team creates the next generation products and services for the BDS business unit. Our DRT team designs, manufactures, and markets DSP-based Software-Defined Radios (SDR) globally. Specific areas of expertise include DSP-based receiver design, communication systems theory, cellular / PCS / wireless communications, software, electronic packaging, digital and RF hardware design.
Position Overview:
The Associate RF Hardware Design Engineer will be a part of a high-performing team. As a member of our team, you will have the opportunity to support development of DRT's 18 GHz down converter as part of a standalone product and building block in our new DF antenna system. This position will focus on DRT's product line of SW defined radios and peripherals with a long term need for RF engineering support and development.
Position Responsibilities:
Assists the design, simulation, and characterization of the analog / RF circuitry in receiver frontends.
Uses test equipment to take circuit measurements and clearly document results.
Assists with the assembly and test of receiver module prototypes.
High initiative, attention to detail, and good debug skills.
Develops detailed designs of limited scope.
Conducts various methods of testing and analysis to support design.
Gathers data for technical performance measures and performs basic analysis.
Provides basic engineering support throughout the lifecycle of the product.
Conducts trade studies and literature research to support future product designs.
Works under general supervision.
Work Authorization:
This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S Security Clearance for which the US Government requires US Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. confidential clearance Post Start is required.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
Bachelor's Degree or higher from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry.
1 year or more of experience designing RF (radio frequency) hardware products.
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree in Electrical Engineering.
Experience with basic circuit analysis, microelectronic circuits (transistor operation and analog design).
Coursework in RF or microwave circuit design.
Experience working with test equipment.
Typical Education/Experience:
Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 2 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. Master). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

Typical summary pay range (Level 2): $85,850 – $116,150
