Job Description
- Lead the European SMB Vertical Sales team in markets, ensuring the team is positioned to achieve VCS SMB financial targets and optimise client outcomes
- Drive the European VCS SMB agenda and GTM across Visa’s six European clusters, working closely with key cluster stakeholders, and other SMB focused Visa teams e.g Tink, Currencycloud, Merchant team
- In partnership with account executives and business development leads, identify and lead new sales opportunities and conversations to ‘grow’ Visa’s SMB business with strategic cluster and/or market clients
- Build and maintain strong relationships with cluster leadership, including designing and implementing a SMB cluster management cadence which optimises the relationship between cluster and HUB, and drives ‘One Visa’ SMB GTM
- Develop strategies and sales plans for Visa’s SMB untapped program and identify SMB opportunities in new prioritized industry verticals
- Accountability for ensuring SMB pipeline hygiene, SMB client account planning, the identification of sales acceleration opportunities and ensuring SMB is represented in Visa’s annual planning processes
- Contribute to the overarching European SMB solution roadmap by continuously reviewing market intelligence, client feedback and competitive landscapes
- Ensure SMB Vertical sales team owns market and client readiness / fit when new Visa solutions are launched, and support the localisation of sales collateral and GTM
- Be a key senior member of the European SMB community including representing Visa at external SMB industry events
- Tracking and improving the performance of accounts across hub/cluster/market incl. enabling clusters / markets with appropriate tools
This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office 2-3 set days a week (determined by leadership/site), with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% or more of the time based on business needs.
Qualifications
- Significant experience leading client-facing business development or sales solutions specialist teams in the payments industry, ideally in commercial/SMB payments
- Demonstrated success using consultative sales approach to achieve sales targets and drive deals, and trouble shoot and problem solve to achieve win-win outcomes
- Experience working in a complex multicultural matrix environment and ability to work through change
- Strong understanding of the issues and challenges for small businesses, with an appreciation of European markets that you can leverage effectively
- Strong commercial acumen with the desire to own and drive sales success
- Excellent relationship skills and credibility to work with internal and external peers and more senior stakeholders
- A strong degree of self-direction and accountability with focus on delivery
- High orientation towards teamwork, good attitude towards cross functional working
- Fluency in English with excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills. Fluency in another European language viewed favourably
