Enterprise Cloud Platforms Team:
Enterprise Cloud Platforms team in the CTO organization offers Private and Public Cloud platforms for Bank of America’s developers to drive faster time-to-market, innovation with private and public cloud capabilities, and reduce complexity with bult-in integrations. We believe in high quality engineering culture to engineer our platforms with customer and platform mindset, design for large enterprise scale and resilience, and accelerate market innovation into the technical platforms we deliver.

We are seeking an experienced Senior Container Engineer to build, test, package, deploy and operate our enterprise scale cloud platform on-prem and off-prem container platform (OpenShift).
Job Description:
This role is responsible for defining and leading the engineering approach for complex features to deliver significant business outcomes. Key responsibilities of the role include delivering complex features and technology, as well as enabling development efficiencies. This role provides technical thought leadership based on the significant experience they have built through multiple software implementations and have developed both depth and breadth in a number of technical competencies. Also, this role is accountable for end-to-end solution design and delivery.
Responsibilities:
- Ensures that the design and engineering approach for complex features are consistent with the larger portfolio solution
- Define the technology tool stack for the solution. Evaluate and adapt new testing tool/framework/practices for team(s)
- Enables team(s)/applications with CI/CD capabilities. Engages with other technical stakeholders pertaining to efficient functioning of CI-CD pipeline
- Guides and influences team(s) on design and best practices for high code performance –e.g. pairing, code reviews
- Provides end-to-end delivery of complex features, including automation, for either a single team or multiple teams, at the program level
- Conducts research, design prototyping and other exploration activities such as evaluating new toolsets and components for release management, CI/CD and features
- Works with stakeholders to establish high-level solution needs and with architects for technical requirements
Additional Responsibilities include:
- Responsible for engineering of new capabilities to the OpenShift Platform and delivering those capabilities in a fully automated and supportable fashion.
- Design and deliver scalable PaaS container (Kubernetes based) platforms for stateless and stateful workloads.
- Partner with Risk, Information Security, and compliance teams to bring visibility and implement right controls and policies in the Cloud Platform
- Develop, enhance, test, perform day2 maintenance of Container Platform and provide escalation support to Operations and SRE.
- Investigate new products and/or capabilities of existing products to serve customer requirement.
- Integrate products and features into existing bank processes, with an eye towards automation of the process.
Required Job Skills:
- BS /MS degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.
- Minimum 8+ years of hands-on experience working on building, deploying and operating Docker containers, including Kubernetes / OpenShift platforms.
- Experience in OpenShift, managed Kubernetes services such as AKS, EKS, or GKE
- Highly proficient in infrastructure automation tasks and interacting with REST API services using tools such as shell scripting, Ansible or Terraform
- An appreciation of the software delivery lifecycle within a team-based environment
- Experience in agile deployment methodologies (GitOps)
- Experience in DevOps and GitOps models with infra-as-code, config-as-code, policy-as-code, etc.
- Hands on experience with enterprise-scale container deployments from inception and design, through deployment, operation, and support.
- Experience in cloud-native network, storage, and virtualization technologies
- Experience with automation in one or more of the programming: Python, Go, Ansible
- Excellent interpersonal, organizational and communication (written, verbal, and presentation) skills are a must.
Desired Job Skills:
- Experience in OpenShift running on-prem /off-prem Kubernetes
- Experience working in a highly available multi-datacenter environment
- Experience working with monitoring tools such as Prometheus, Splunk, Dynatrace, AppDynamics, Sysdig, or similar tools
- Experience in Terraform, ArgoCD, Tekton, and K-native technologies
- Knowledge of various container runtimes
- Familiarity with the operator deployment patterns.
- Operate in a fast-paced environment with multiple concurrent priorities
- Experience working within a regulated financial environment is desirable
- Self-starter able to work with minimal supervision
