Our teams are currently hiring for a broad range of experience levels including; Experienced, Lead, and Senior Level Fuels Systems Design Engineers.
Position Responsibilities:
- Create or update documents like system safety analysis and airworthiness limitations for 787
- Maintains Boeing design oversight of vendor-provided fuel system Components
- Provides vendor engagement, project management, and integration of vendor-initiated design modifications and configuration updates
- Addresses and investigates fleet, production, and vendor issues related to the fuel systems, including Service Requests, NoEs, NCRs, EPDs, ELRs, CNs, CARs, etc.
- Supports vendor engineering change proposals, including review and approval of supplier drawings and documents
- Assists in managing Boeing Specification Control Document (SCD) requirements, including SCD revisions and new development if required
- Engagement with vendors to establish qualification test requirements, planning, and execution
- Assists in developing design solutions to support product improvements
- Coordinate/ develop/ publish test plans, reports, and procedures
- Perform analysis using test or certification data
- Provide support for safety and compliance investigations
- Manage and prioritize multiple tasks in support of certification and airplane delivery schedules
- Interface with suppliers and external partners to drive successful collaborations on Propulsion Fuels projects
- Coordinate with internal partners such as EME, RM&T, ASE, Stress, Flight Test, Service Engineering, and Reg Admin to successfully meet project goals and schedules
- Lead teams to assure proper integration of propulsion/fuels changes with other airplane systems
- Communicate project status, risks, issues, and opportunities to Propulsion and Program Leadership
This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at the listed location.
The position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a “US Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.15 is required. “US Person” includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
- Bachelors Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, or Chemistry
- 3 or more years of experience in Propulsion Engineering
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
- 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- 10 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Knowledge of airplane fuels systems and architecture
- Strong technical skills and demonstrated ability to understand complex problems
- Strong project and time management skills; Must be able to manage and prioritize multiple projects in support of key milestones and aircraft delivery schedules
- Excellent communication skills; Ability to clearly communicate complex scenarios with internal and external Leaders and technical SMEs
- Experience working multi-disciplinary projects
- Familiar with ENOVIA, CSDT, REDARS, ETAC, IVX, IVT, CATIA (PDM a plus)
- Familiar with establishing RCCAs / BPSMs / fault trees / cause maps
- Experience working COSP process is preferred
- Knowledge of airplane safety is preferred
- Experience with certification is preferred
- Understanding of large transport category aircraft certification process is preferred
- Familiarity with CFR 25.981 and/or 25.1309 is preferred
- Able to work under general supervision and self-direct work based on needs of customers, product, and stakeholders
- Able to represent the company professionally in demanding environments
- Able to work effectively with the entire value stream to accomplish desired results
- Able to work effectively with people from diverse backgrounds
- Able to independently develop innovative solutions that meet business targets
- Involvement with SCD Qualification Programs and Equipment Management is desired but not required
- Some travel may be required

Experienced (Level-3):
Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD, Master+3 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
Lead (Level-4):
Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 9 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+4 years' related work experience, Master+7 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
Senior (Level-5):
Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 14 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+9 years' related work experience, Master+12 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

Summary pay range:
Experienced: $100,300 - $135,700
Lead: $121,550 - $164,450
Senior: $147,900 - $200,100
