Job Description Qualifications:
The Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) organization is seeking multiple talented Mid-level or Senior Printed Circuit Board (PCB/PWB) Design Engineers (levels 3, 4 and 5) to join the Space Intelligence and Weapon Systems (SI&WS) Electrical Engineering Team in Huntsville, Alabama.
The Space Intelligence and Weapon Systems (SI&WS) organization is dynamic and growing with a leadership team focused on attracting and developing top talent in support of critical missions for National Defense and Strategic Deterrence. The programs that we support in Huntsville, Alabama include Ground-based Midcourse Defense, precision-guided munitions, and Integrated Air & Missile Defense products (PAC-3, Avenger, ABMD); Missile Defense Agency National Team (Systems Engineering, C2BMC), and Strategic Deterrence Systems (which includes Minuteman ICBM support and guidance system repair).
The PCB Design Engineer will be responsible for creating detailed PCB designs and release of complete PCB technical data/documentation packages for production. (Printed Circuit Board: PCB is considered synonymous with the term Printed Wiring Board: PWB)
Primary Responsibilities:
Work from engineering concept to final drawings
Create electrical schematic drawings for PCB/PWBs
Create PCBs/PWBs – design, parts placement, routing, dimensioning/tolerancing, and drawing generation
Establish and document complete PCB/PWB specifications. (Need to have good understanding of PCB/PWB fabrication processes and industry standards such as those from IPC)
Provide technical expertise in selection of PCB/PWB materials and technologies
Provide technical oversite of PCB/PWB supplier selection, verification, and continuous improvement efforts
This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite.
This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry
Minimum of 1 year of experience with PCB/PWB design
Minimum of 3 years of engineering experience
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
Experience in electrical computer aided design (CAD) tools for schematic capture and layout such as Expedition/Mentor Graphics
Design experience with radio frequency (RF), digital, analog, and/or mixed-signal PCB/PWBs
High Density Interconnect PCB/PWB design experience
Experience in selection of advanced PCB/PWB materials and design rules
Understanding of PCB/PWB manufacturing processes, and experience with PCB/PWB Design-for-Manufacturability (DFM) and Design-for-Assembly (DFA) analysis tools and/or processes
Experience with mechanical CAD tools to facilitate the import/export of mechanical information
Typical Education/Experience:
Mid-Level (Level 3)
Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 5 or more years'
related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD, Master+3 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
Senior (Level 4)
Bachelor's degree and typically 9 or more years' experience in an engineering classification or a Master's degree with typically 7 or more years' experience in an engineering classification or a PhD degree with typically 4 or more years' experience in an engineering classification. Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering. ABET is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
Senior (Level 5)
Bachelor's degree typically 14 or more years' experience in an engineering classification or a Master's degree with typically 12 or more years' experience in an engineering classification or a PhD degree with typically 9 or more years' experience in an engineering classification. Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering. ABET is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

Summary pay range mid-level (level 3): $97,750 – $132,250
Summary pay range senior (level 4): $118,150 – $159,850
Summary pay range senior (level 5): $145,350 – $196,650
