Job Description Qualifications:
The Boeing Company has an exciting opportunity for a Hardware Engineer (Level 3 and 4) to join the Fighters Mission Avionics team located in Berkeley, MO. This position will focus on supporting the Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) business organization.
This challenging role requires the ability to lead across teams and functions, business units, partners, suppliers, and customers, to ensure technical integrity of the subsystem while meeting customer commitments. Excellent organizational and communication skills are essential to perform this role effectively to balance the significant number of activities across this system.
Position Responsibilities:
Lead hardware component re-spin activities with partners and suppliers through proposal development, execution, qualification, and closeout.
Lead hardware technology refresh studies with customers/partners/suppliers
Execute and coordinate activities to develop and document complex electronic and electrical system requirements.
Leads and coordinates work to analyze and translate requirements into system, hardware and software designs and interface specifications.
Develop statement-of-work and technical performance specifications
Execute and coordinate activities to run tests and validate to ensure system designs meet operational and functional requirements.
Provide inputs for certification & qualification plans and authors certification deliverable documents.
Develop architectures to integrate complex systems and components into higher-level systems and platforms.
Manage appropriate aspects of critical supplier and partner performance to ensure compliance to requirements.
Provide support to products throughout their lifecycle from manufacturing to customer use by providing guidance and support to resolve complex issues.
Support project management by developing work statement, budget, schedule, and other required inputs and conducting appropriate reviews.
Proposal writing: Generate major sections of proposals to support development of new business.
Researches specific technology advances for potential application to company business needs.
Must be able to communicate with technical personnel from multiple skill areas and functions to evaluate technical information and issues impacting design, production, and support of products, services, or other deliverables
Capable of evaluating customer and /operational needs to define system performance requirements, integrate technical parameters and assure compatibility of all physical, functional and program interfaces
This position will require occasional domestic travel.
This position is hybrid. This means that the selected candidate will be required to perform some work onsite at one of the listed location options. This is at the hiring team’s discretion and could potentially change in the future.
Export Control:
This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skill/Experience):
Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, environmental science, chemistry, geology, physics, computer science or mathematics
Experience working with internal and external customers and suppliers
Experience in leading Mission Systems development and integration
Experience managing projects and utilizing standard project management tools
Willing and able to travel 5% of the time
Typical Education/Experience:
Experienced (Level 3)
Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 5 or more years'
related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD, Master+3 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
Lead (Level 4)
Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 9 or more years'
related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+4 years' related work experience, Master+7 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

Summary pay range for Experienced Level: $96,050 - $129,950
