What you'll do...
As a Staff Software Engineer (Full Stack) of Walmart Fulfillment Services (WFS), you play a pivotal role in the development of a high-performance and scalable WFS Applications. The applications are integral to the next generation Supply Chain, particularly focusing on exposing Walmart's Supply Chain assets to Sellers. The WFS Applications are built on an event-driven platform, utilizing a micro-service architecture, with the UI developed using ReactJS/Redux. Operating in the public cloud, the platform employs a diverse set of technologies and middleware. You are also responsible to ensure the systems are multi-tenant and promote to leverage the same systems/services globally to different Walmart entities and its subsidiaries present in various countries.

What you'll do:
- Lead the development of a high-performance and scalable WFS Application for seamless user experience on both front-end (ReactJS/Redux) and back-end components understanding the requirements from the product team gathered from business stakeholders of various countries with Walmart’s presence.
- Contribute to the evolution of the event-driven platform built on a micro-service architecture, enhancing its capabilities.
- Leverage expertise in cloud technologies to optimize the WFS Application's performance in a public cloud environment, ensuring resource efficiency and scalability.
- Collaborate with middleware technologies to ensure smooth integration with various systems, implementing effective solutions for enhanced system functionality.
- Work closely with UX/UI designers to maintain and improve the user interface, providing a positive and intuitive experience for sellers.
- Enhance the WFS Application to enable sellers to effectively use Walmart's services in fulfilling customer orders on Walmart.com, aligning with sellers' needs.
- Bring intellectual curiosity to explore innovative solutions and stay passionate about technology advancements, actively participating in continuous learning and development.
Lead and participates in medium- to large-scale, complex, cross-functional projects by reviewing project requirements, translating requirements into technical solutions; gathering requested information (for example, design documents, product requirements, data model), writing and developing code, conducting unit testing, communicating status and issues to team members and stakeholders, collaborating with product team and cross functional teams; troubleshooting open issues and bug-fixes, enhancing design to prevent re-occurrences of defects, ensuring on-time delivery and hand-offs, interacting with the manager to provide inputs/updates on project, and providing technical leadership to the engineers.
What you'll bring:
- 10+ years of extensive software development experience building distributed systems and micro-services.
- Solid background in both object-oriented and event-driven systems, contributing to a diverse skill set.
- Strong programming experience in Java and Scala for building robust and scalable applications.
- Proficiency in Spring Boot application development for efficient and maintainable back-end solutions.
- Familiarity with asynchronous technologies like Kafka, JMS, showcasing proficiency in event-driven system design.
- Strong commitment to comprehensive testing frameworks, ensuring robustness of developed solutions.
- Experience working in java scripting languages – React, NodeJS, etc.
- Proven experience in building reusable React components for scalable and maintainable front-end development.
- Experience in analyzing applications for performance degradation and devising effective plans for improvement.
- In-depth knowledge of SQL/No-SQL and various databases, including Oracle, Cosmos DB, ElasticSearch, Cassandra, and Solr.
- Working experience with cloud technologies such as Azure, GCP, leveraging cloud services for scalable solutions.
- Strong aptitude for writing efficient and optimized code, contributing to overall software performance.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills, emphasizing effective collaboration in a team environment.
