About the job:
The Senior Data Engineer will report to the Vice President of Digital and Enterprise Technology and is responsible for designing and implementing our organization's data infrastructure, ensuring its alignment with business goals and objectives. You will be responsible for implementing the entire data lifecycle, from data acquisition and storage to data processing and analytics. The ideal candidate possesses deep technical expertise in implementing data infrastructure and a strong ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop innovative data solutions. You will be a major contributor to improving our decision-making processes and driving business growth.
You will:
- Data Integration and ETL/ELT: Develop and maintain robust and scalable data pipelines using various tools (AWS, Python, SQL, Airflow, Fivetran, etc) ensuring the delivery of reliable data to various systems platforms
- Data Modeling: Identify and gather business requirements and translate them into logical and physical data models. Apply best practices for data modeling, dimensional modeling, and normalization to ensure data accuracy, consistency, and performance
- Data Ops & CI/CD: Implement and maintain a scalable development environment that allows for multiple data team members to seamlessly integrate and deploy code across the globe
- Data Security and Compliance: Uphold agreed upon data security and privacy policies, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations such as GDPR or CCPA. Implement data protection measures, access controls, and data classification frameworks to safeguard sensitive information
- Troubleshoot and resolve data-related issues, demonstrating a proactive mindset in fixing bugs and enhancing data quality
- Collaborate cross-functionally to understand departmental needs, customizing data solutions that align with company objectives and user requirements

You have:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field
- 3 to 5 years of proven experience as a Data Engineer or similar role, with a focus on designing and implementing scalable data solutions
- Very Strong SQL and Python experience
- Experience with at least one orchestration platform (e.g. Airflow, Dagster, Prefect, or a similar tool)
- Expertise in data modeling techniques and data warehousing best practices using dbt or similar tools
- Strong knowledge of relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, Oracle, SQL Server) and NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB, Cassandra, DynamoDB)
- Proficiency with modern cloud data warehouses (e.g. Snowflake, Redshift, Athena)
- Strong familiarity, or even proficiency, with data visualization tools (e.g. Looker, Sigma Computing, Metabase)
- In-depth understanding of cloud-based data platforms (e.g., AWS, GCP, Azure) and associated services (e.g., S3, Redshift, Lambda, BigQuery, IAM)
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions
- Strong relationship-building communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders
