Overview
Your work is consistently of high quality. You solve difficult problems, applying appropriate technologies
and best practices. You work with your team to invent, design and build software that is stable and
performant. You write code that an Software Development Engineer unfamiliar with the system can
understand. Your solutions are pragmatic. You are proficient in a broad range of design approaches and
know when it is appropriate to use them (and when it is not). You do things with the proper level of
complexity the first time (or at least minimize incidental complexity). You consider the legacy of the code
you produce, limiting the use of short-term workarounds. You create flexible software without
over-engineering. You make appropriate trade-offs, re-use where possible, and are judicious about
introducing dependencies.
You will:
- Work closely with other engineers, product designers to design, build and maintain
customer facing products and interfaces - Develop shared, reusable UI components library
- Develop E2E tests raising the bar for the quality of customer experience
What you bring:
- Computer Science degree or similar technical degree or postgraduate study.
- 1+ years of commercial experience as a Software Development Engineer
- 1+ years of programming experience with JavaScript and/or TypeScript
- Knowledge of HTML5, CSS3 and its preprocessors (Sass or Less).
- Familiar with one or more modern JavaScript front-end frameworks such as React,
Next.js, Vue.js or Angular. - Strong Computer Science and development fundamentals, including object-oriented
design, data structures, algorithm design. - Experience in using a REST API from the client-side.
- Knowledge of analytics platforms such as Amplitude and other pixel based analytics
solutions - A strong self-starter, operationally-focused; a problem-solver
Preferred Qualifications:
- Understand view layout and rendering technologies (e.g., responsiveness, progressive
enhancement, browser/device support). Know when it is appropriate to make graceful
fallbacks. - Understanding of cross-browser compatibility issues, and ways to work around them
- Good understanding of code versioning tools, such as Git.
- Able to demonstrate knowledge of front-end system design.
- Able to demonstrate knowledge of performance/security considerations.
