Sr. Business Development AnalystPerformance Systems Development (PSD) is looking for a Sr Business Development Analyst who can support the growth of our company by managing the proposal development process. PSD designs, supports and implements efficiency programs and services for utility and government agencies, primarily in the Northeast and Midwest. PSD specializes in offerings that draw on our building science expertise and technology solutions, currently serving clients such as Mass Save, NYSERDA, PECO, FirstEnergy, WI Focus on Energy, and New Jersey Comfort Partners. In addition to efficiency programs, PSD supports third-party quality assurance field inspections for both income-eligible and market-rate customers, training services (with an emphasis on energy code support and new homes training), software solutions, and energy modeling/data analytics approaches (notably, a Heat Pump Toolkit) that support the decarbonization transition.

What will you do?
The Sr. Business Development Analyst will be instrumental in bringing many core growth strategies to reality by leading initiatives in sales and marketing and supporting solution design. This role reports to the VP of Business Development and will work closely with subject matter experts from across the company to promote PSD’s industry leading offerings. Responsibilities include .
In addition, this role will require strong communication skills and proven experience in working with a cross-functional, remote team to create bid/proposal content and marketing collateral, as well as coordinate sales activities. PSD’s 3 business units focus on program implementation (a services line of business, operating energy efficiency programs and workforce development training), software development, and engineering consulting, and frequently collaborate across units to develop innovative market offerings. PSD’s 100 staff are primarily located in the Northeast and Midwest, but are spread across 16 states.
Position responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:
- Tracking of sales operations activities and related metrics (i.e. lead status, follow ups, coordination of internal SMEs, formal and sole source proposals, etc)
- Development of written content for variety of sales and marketing materials
- Collect, compile and manage Solution Development information and documents including primary responsibility for Solution Summary (internal resource) and Solution Briefs (external resource) creation and updates.
- Organization and management of proposal submittals including document creation, content writing, win themes, kick off meetings, submittal schedule, etc.
- Client-facing communications including website inquiry responses and sales inbox management
- Coordinate Business Development activities including product demos, conference attendance, and client communications.
- Support the communication of strategic initiatives across the organization to drive cross-functional collaboration of all business units.
- Collaborate to identify process improvements to drive efficiency and consistent high-quality work products
This is a remote position. Flexibility to come to a PSD office on an occasional basis is desired but not required.
Need to have:
- 4-year degree in Communications, PR, Marketing or related field.
- 7+ years of work experience, ideally in a consulting/services/software development company
- Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
- Growth mindset and a collaborative spirit
- 5+ Experience in proposal development and management
- Proven track record of managing work efforts that incorporate input from many individuals across different functional groups.
- Industry research for client needs, competitive analysis, and partnership management. Gather and process relevant information, generate summaries, and make recommendations.
- Strong time-management and problem-solving skills
- Willingness to travel on a monthly basis to PSD office/staff locations.
Nice to Have:
- Experience in the energy efficiency industry
- Direct-to-client communications experience
- Hands-on experience with CRM systems such as Hubspot, Salesforce, etc.
