*Junior Full Stack Developer (Java)*
*Cleveland, OH (3 days onsite, 2 days remote)*
*W-2 Contract (Full-Time Hours, 40 Hours/Week)*
Brooksource is seeking a Junior Java Software Engineer to join our Fortune 500 client, where you will play a critical role in supporting our client’s sales team’s suite of legacy applications and tools. As a Jr Developer, you will work closely with a team of experienced Developers to support and enhance a group of legacy products. You will be responsible for developing, testing, and maintaining software solutions using Java, Struts 2, JSP, and Oracle as the primary technology stack. You will interact with ServiceNow to support a backlog of development support tickets, in addition to new development.
*Qualifications:*
* Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related IT field of study.
* Internship or project experience in Java web application development.
* Coursework in Java programming language and Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) principles.
* Familiarity with web application development concepts and best practices, as well as a variety of technologies such as Spring Boot, jQuery, Bootstrap, Vue.js, React, AWS, Docker, Kubernetes.
* Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
* Ability to work effectively in an Agile team environment and collaborate with senior developers.
* Good communication skills to interact with business stakeholders.
* Knowledge of ServiceNow or similar ticketing and incident management tool is a plus.
*Key Responsibilities:*
* *Development:* Collaborate with senior developers to design, code, test, and deploy web applications and services using Java, Struts 2, and JSP within an Oracle database environment.
* *Maintenance:* Identify and troubleshoot issues within existing applications, perform bug fixes, and apply patches and updates to ensure the reliability and performance of the legacy tools.
* *Enhancements:* Assist in designing and implementing new features and functionality based on business requirements to improve the effectiveness of the sales team.
* *Documentation:* Create and maintain technical documentation including design specifications, code documentation, and user guides to ensure knowledge transfer and maintainability.
* *ServiceNow Backlog:* Work through a backlog of support tickets built up in ServiceNow ticketing system.
* *Testing:* Perform unit testing and participate in integration and system testing to ensure the quality and stability of the applications.
* *Collaboration:* Work closely with cross-functional teams including business analysts, QA testers, and support teams to ensure successful project delivery.
