As an Associate Software Engineer at CNET.com, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining sophisticated front-end applications. Collaborating closely with other developers, UX designers, and other stakeholders, you will enhance user experience and functionality. Your expertise in front-end development and problem-solving abilities will be crucial in identifying and resolving issues. Additionally, you will stay updated with the latest trends and technologies in front-end development.
What You'll Do:
- Develop and maintain sophisticated front-end applications, ensuring the technical feasibility and implementation of UI/UX designs.
- Collaborate with other developers, UX designers, and stakeholders to enhance user experience and functionality.
- Write clean, efficient, testable, and reusable code, following best practices for front-end development.
- Develop and maintain testing frameworks for front-end code, performing thorough functionality and performance tests.
- Efficiently identify and resolve front-end related issues, analyzing technical requirements and proposing effective solutions.
- Stay updated with the latest trends and technologies in front-end development.
What We're Looking For:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in front-end web development.Proficiency in HTML, CSS, SASS, and JavaScript. Experience with TypeScript is a bonus.
- Demonstrated experience with Node.js and modern frameworks such as Vue.js or React. Knowledge of server-side rendering via frameworks like Nuxt or Next.js is a bonus.
- Proven track record in front-end development, with a portfolio or examples of past work.
- Solid experience building responsive web applications.
- Proficiency in version control tools like Git.
- Excellent communication skills for effective team collaboration, including the ability to communicate technical information to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Compensation
- Cash Compensation Range: $60,000- $97,000
*Note actual salary is based on geographic location, qualifications, and experience.
