Field Sales Representative
POSITION OVERVIEW
A rapidly growing, entrepreneurial software and energy company, Building36, is seeking a Field Sales Representative to join its Sales team. The Sales team is responsible for working with our partners to enable our partners to sell the full suite of Building36 services. This includes everything from educating potential partners on our solution and signing them up, to working with our partners to contact and visit customers, explaining the service, and demonstrate end user features and functionality. The ideal candidate is well versed in technology, has a keen problem-solving sense, and the desire to work in sales.
RESPONSIBILITIES
The Field Sales Representative’s primary job responsibilities will include:
- Serve as the lead point of contact for Building36 partners in the assigned territory
- Build and maintain strong, long-lasting client relationships
- Ensure the timely and successful delivery of our solutions according to customer needs and objectives
- Collaborate with sales team to identify and grow opportunities within territory
- Sell Building36 technology solutions to HVAC customers via our partner channel
- Interact with customers about available services and solutions
- Act as the escalation point for technical issues after both partner’s internal technical team and the tech support team have attempted to resolve any issues
- Provide product support and installation trainings to partners in order to increase sales
- Gather feedback from partners and partner customers on how we can improve our product and processes
- Represent Building36 at various industry trade shows and events
- Stay up to date with new Building36 product release features to properly respond to partner inquiries
- Working within the sales organization to facilitate customer success
- Work with CSRs and Dispatch to maximize calendar with quality homeowner leads
- Other duties as assigned
REQUIREMENTS
- 2+ years of experience in field sales preferred
- The ability to communicate with customers and vendors, both in writing and verbally, in a clear, professional manner
- A self-starter capable of operating independently
- Strong people skills; natural customer service orientation and disposition – candidate must enjoy working with clients and supporting internal customers in the organization
- Excellent problem-solving skills
- The ability and commitment to meet deadlines, even during high volume periods
- Flexible and positive attitude that fosters team spirit
- Experience using Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word
- Experience using PowerPoint and other presentation development tools desired
- Ability to travel locally up to 80% of the time in order to engage with dealer partners and customers
- Comfort with hardware installation is a plus
- Experience in the HVAC market is a plus
- BA or BS, Engineering, Math, Business or Sciences preferred but not required
