Position: Director, Technical Sales

The Role
The Director, Technical Sales will be part of a Technical Sales team supporting the direct sales process. This position will report to the Vice President, Technical Sales. This position focused on the technical pitch of the deal, attending client sales meetings for consultative sales to then apply the appropriate technology to solve client needs. This is not a sales lead generating or national account management position.
Responsibilities
- Develop an adept understanding of software, hardware, and analytic product offerings in order to best communicate and demonstrate their value to diverse target audiences • Create and reference CRM (Salesforce), customer profiles, prospecting and filtering tools to study accounts and generate target lists, etc.
- Play a key role in creation and refinement of Technical Sales Proposals. Includes product solution recommendations, scope and scale of implementations, inclusion of relevant case studies or testimonials, and proofing & editing presentation
- Collaborate with Direct Sales, Product, and other key departments and stakeholders to create relevant case studies or customer/product strategies.
- Support Direct Sales and Operations functions as the technical “go-to,” by attending key client meetings throughout the Sales Cycle and close the deal.
- Meet with clients and prospects in-person or virtually for education acquisition of the need and provide tech demos for solutions to client needs.
- Strong ability to do virtual and in-person demonstrations of the technology to solve client needs.
- Be the expert on technology offerings of Metropolis. Questions you will answer could include, but are not limited to: value created by the offerings and why Metropolis Technology is a good fit for the client, timeline of implementations, etc. o All of Metropolis’ offerings are proprietary and unique but simple
- Present and demo a range of technical product offerings for clients, Direct Sales, and Operations, sometimes ad-hoc.
Qualifications
- Strong technical background, with proficiency in understanding and articulating complex technical concepts around SaaS products and digital payment platforms
- Excellent organizational, problem solving and leadership skills; able to internalize and build client buy-in
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, presentation skills, interpersonal skills
- Excellent time management and prioritization skills
- Success leading sales efforts and initiatives, sales support, or similar to drive revenue growth
- Experience in a technical role, selling or sales managing technical products, or other relevant experience with technology
- Other relevant skills: Salesforce, CRM, Customer Mindset, Product, Marketing, Sales Mgmt., Process design, product
- Relevant fields or industries: Travel, hospitality, transportation, logistics, events, SaaS, hardware solutions
- Traits: Independent, energetic, takes action, creative, relational, detail-oriented, efficient, self-starter • B.S. preferred but not required
