As part of Markets Global FX Sales, the Client Execution - Data Analytics Team aims to deliver the full potential of our data to create value and position our salespeople to win. You will gain global exposure and valuable business expertise by working in close partnership with sales managers and sales teams across the world and all lines of the FX business. You will be part of a dynamic team, and work on ideas that move the needle.
The ideal candidate will have strong tech or quant skills and a start-up mentality. You will understand the path from data to revenue, empathize to uncover pain points and needs, ideate practical solutions, identify risks, and create prototypes by yourself to rapidly test assumptions. You will collaborate closely with the broader Client Execution team to validate product fit and to scale the winning ideas. Depending on the idea, you may work with FX Trading or with our partners in TTS, Banking or Services. You will communicate regularly with project stakeholders and the broader FX sales, as well as track the outcomes. Finally, you will work in partnership with the FX Product and Technology teams to move the successful ideas to production.
Responsibilities:
- Elicit and evaluate commercial use cases that result in business growth, efficiency, or better client experience
- Uncover pain points and needs, understand the path from data to revenue, ideate possible data solutions
- Identify what might prevent commercial success and devise ways to test and mitigate those risks early on
- Identify, source, clean and process the data you will need to support your use cases
- Build the data pipeline and algorithms to extract actionable insights from the data
- Package and program the delivery of those insights to the sales best positioned to action it
- Create the required visualizations for sales to make sense and validate the opportunity
- Build automated ways to capture sales feedback, move opportunities forward, and track outcomes
- Contribute to the underlying code base to add capabilities, reduce technical debt, and shorten cycle time
- Identify and mitigate business risks such as a breach of client confidentiality, data privacy, information security, and other applicable laws, rules, and regulations, adhering to Policy and escalating issues with transparency
- Identify and bring in production teams early, keeping them in the loop and building the tools and processes in a way that facilitates their integration and eventual handoff once proven and stable
- Understand, support and contribute to the broader FX and Markets data strategy
- Communicate regularly with project stakeholders on progress
- Share and celebrate success, as well as learnings.
Required Qualifications and Personal Qualities:
- 3+ years of experience
- Familiarity with code version control and development workflow
- Proficiency in setting up your own coding environment (pip, python, PyCharm or preferred IDE)
- Strong working knowledge of Python and its core libraries
- Strong data skills to query, clean, analyze and present data
- A self-starter who takes ownership and accountability
- Creative, innovative and entrepreneurial in spirit, gets things done
- Contributes to a positive work environment; shares knowledge and supports diversity.
Valuable Assets
- Familiarity with FX and/or other Markets products, TTS, Banking or Services
- Excellent coding skills
- Proficiency with pandas, streamlit and/or other data and visualization libraries
- Experience with Citi's deployment pipeline: Jenkins, Udeploy, Openshift, Airflow
- Knowledge of SQL, no-SQL, MDX query languages
- Knowledge of javascript, Angular, REACT and/or VUE
- Knowledge of KDB, Q
- Knowledge of Hadoop, PySpark
- Knowledge of data visualization software like Tableau, Qlik
- Familiarity with graph algorithms, databases and/or query languages
- Familiarity with AI/ML, NLP, and/or GenAI techniques
- Technical proficiency regarding database design, data models, and data mining techniques
- Familiarity with innovation techniques such as job to be done, story boards, five whys and others
- Familiarity with user experience design
- Solid mathematical or quantitative skills
- Statistical skills to plan experiments and measure results
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
