About this role
As the Head of IT Operations, you will manage the IT Operations portfolio that supports Grant Thornton Australia’s operations. You will be responsible for Service Delivery, Infrastructure and Platform Engineering functions for the firm, including all cloud, on premises, office and network services and the management of third parties that assist in the delivery of those services.
You will bring experience, knowledge, and future vision for transforming the IT Operations function, including its strategy, operating model, product and service offerings and workforce. You will be a senior stakeholder in all relationships with externally sourced infrastructure and operations capabilities.
As a key member of the Digital leadership team, you will contribute to the development and execution of the enterprise-wide IT strategy and ensure that IT Operations is fully aligned to deliver value.
You will report to the Chief Technology Officer and leading a team of 20 with 3 direct reports.
Key responsibilities
- Define and execute the IT Operations strategy, vision, and governance in alignment with the Digital and firm goals
- Manage the IT Service Management (ITSM) landscape, including IT asset management, service delivery, infrastructure, and platform engineering
- Build and maintain effective stakeholder relationships and high levels of customer service across the Digital and business functions
- Lead, coach, and develop the IT Operations Team and ensure compliance with laws, standards, and policies
- Collaborate with the Cyber Security team and external partners to ensure security, availability, and performance of IT services
Skills & experience
- Tertiary qualification in Information Technology or related field and 3- 5 years of management experience in IT or related area with a demonstrated ability to lead and coach a team to achieve set outcomes and desired behaviours
- Proven ability to prioritise, plan, solve problems, and work independently and collaboratively
- Excellent analytical, strategic, and execution skills and strong understanding of cloud technologies, especially Microsoft Azure
- Exceptional leadership, interpersonal, influencing, and negotiation skills and demonstrated commitment to customer service and continuous improvement
- Proven track record negotiating with vendors, scoping and estimating projects, and managing budgets.
