Job Description
Eurofins Medical Device Testing is searching for a Packaging Sales Engineer to support our North American Medical Device Testing Division.
Position Summary
The Packaging Sales Engineer will serve as subject matter expert, providing advice externally to clients and prospects and internally to business development, project management, and operational leadership on the testing requirements within the packaging testing industry. The Packaging Sales Engineer will work extensively with field sales to identify client testing needs, provide solutions, and close business. Will also work collaboratively with sales, operations, and project management to develop technical scopes in response to RFQ/RFPs.
Packaging Sales Engineer responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Achieve/exceed annual targets for package testing market by cultivating development of existing accounts and support of prospecting for new accounts in the package testing market.
- Serve as subject matter expert in package testing requirements for the medical device, biopharmaceutical and consumer products industry.
- Provide focused activity, training, and strategic direction to achieve revenue targets and further market penetration.
- Effectively collaborate with Regional Sales Managers and Key Account Managers to sell packaging testing services and maximize quote win ratios.
- Align packaging testing service offering with market needs by providing immediate, continuous feedback and driving continuous improvement.
- Understand the client’s scientific, regulatory, and business needs and provide solutions to these needs through technical work scopes, establishing Eurofins Medical Device Testing as the most experienced and best overall value for each specific program.
- Monitor marketplace for competitive pricing.
- Facilitate contract/project hand-off meetings with project management and operations to communicate all details necessary for successful project execution.
- Represent Eurofins Medical Device Testing at trade shows, conferences, etc., to further company reputation and market penetration.
- Travel to client locations and on-site to Eurofins BPT facilities for client visits to aid in obtaining work. Expected travel: 40%.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate would possess the following minimum qualifications:
- A bachelor’s degree or masters in engineering, applied sciences or related scientific field plus a minimum of 3-5 years of directly relevant experience is preferred.
- Experience with a Contract Testing Organization (CTO), Contract Manufacturing Organization (CMO or CDMO), Medical Device or Bio/Pharmaceutical drug development organization.
- Business-focused strategic mindset and the ability to consistently make timely decisions even in the face of complexity, balancing systematic analysis with decisiveness.
- Strong computer skills with proficiency in MS Office, MS Outlook, and SharePoint.
- Excellent communication (oral and written) skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team with self-motivation, adaptability, and a positive attitude.
- Ability to learn new techniques, perform multiple tasks simultaneously, keep accurate records, follow instructions, and comply with company policies.
- Strong leadership, initiative, and teambuilding skills.
- Authorization to work in the United States indefinitely without restriction or sponsorship.
Additional Information
The position is full-time, Monday-Friday, 8 a.m.-5 p.m., with overtime as needed. Location of the position is open with a preference for close access to a major airport.
