We are looking for a Senior Accounts Manager who will manage complex customer relationships to join our Accounts team within our Sales organization. You will be responsible for managing the relationship with Symbotic’s most valued customers. The ideal candidate will be accustomed to interfacing with executive teams both inside and outside the company. Your ability to develop meaningful relationships and manage large, complex accounts will allow our team to scale along with the company. In this role you will develop a deep understanding of the Symbotic product portfolio and technologies to effectively manage our commitments and assist in prioritizing new development efforts.
The Accounts Team is part of the Sales organization, which is responsible for developing, negotiating, and executing contracts with strategic customers. Symbotic, at its core, builds strong, long-term relationships with all of our clients and these teams are at the forefront of that effort.
Partner with cross-functional teams to develop new solution configurations and designs that will integrate Symbotic Systems in our customer’s facilities.
Understand our customer’s business challenges, automation motivations, operational processes, and propose new solutions that deliver improved productivity and value.
Develop and maintain automation modeling tools. Analyze customer data sets with these tools to size and specify the appropriate automation equipment.
Transform business needs into specific hardware, software, or system-level recommendations resulting in solutions that enhance our value proposition.
Work closely with designers to develop comprehensive warehouse layouts.
Interface with Systems Engineering for process definition and advanced modeling needs.
Attend sales calls with the sales team to answer Symbotic technical questions.
Produce clear and concise executive communications (written, presentation, customer).
Capture customer requirements to support product development in producing market requirement documents.
Maintain ownership of the key account sales forecast and solutions delivery to engineering.
Facilitate the forward-looking and ongoing key account workstreams.
Analyze the intricacies of the customer contracts.
Ensure that the company, particularly development teams, remain within scope of the contract.
Own the change order process for monetizing out-of-scope tasks.
Travel up to 25% of the time.
Bachelor's degree required; Advanced degree preferred. Engineering background would be a bonus (SW or HW).
Minimum 12 years’ relevant experience with 5 years of experience in the materials handling industry.
Demonstrated project management experience with cross-functional teams.
Experience with financial analysis, business case justification, and cost/benefit tradeoffs
Prior experience writing sales proposals.
Possess extremely strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Data modeling experience and advanced capabilities using Microsoft Excel, MS Excel PowerPivot, SQL databases and Access. Programming skills a plus.
Strong presentation skills with the confidence to present to large, executive-level audiences. An ability to present complex concepts to customers with varying backgrounds.
Excellent team player, able to work professionally with members of various engineering teams
Excellent critical thinking skills.
Strong sales and customer service skills and commercial instinct.
Demonstrated ability to work in rapidly changing startup environment.
Experience with program rollout strategy/planning with complex dependencies.
Several years’ automation/warehousing implementation/operational experience.
Up to 25%of travel may be required. Employees must have a valid driver’s license and the ability to drive and/or fly to client and other customer locations.
The employee is responsible for owning a credit card and managing expenses personally to be reimbursed on a bi-weekly basis.
