The Barracuda Networks Team is expanding and adding a technical specialist resource to its Systems Engineering team in North America. We are seeking a talented, motivated systems engineer to join our team and specialize in our Email Security and Remote Monitoring and Management portfolio.
The primary function of the Systems Engineer is to work closely with the North American Sales Team and present Barracuda’s solutions to current and prospective customers/partners, creating and delivering demonstrations of the products, gathering, and validating technical requirements, and making appropriate technical recommendations, along with ensuring our partners are appropriately enabled and solutions deployed in accordance with our best practices. As a Systems Engineer, you will also generating enablement, and process and procedure documentation while using your excellent communication skills to answer technical questions in addition to clearly and persuasively articulating Barracuda’s mission, product, and business value.
What you’ll be working on
- Provide presales and post-sales support (Which may include installation assistance and limited on-site training) to the company’s customers throughout North America.
- Deliver compelling product demonstrations and presentations.
- Assist in qualifying opportunities, validating technical requirements and providing appropriate product recommendations.
- Answer technical questions, overcome objections and help sales position against competitive solutions
- Respond to RFI’s, RFP’s.
- Engage appropriate internal resources like sales, product management, product marketing, CSE’s and others when necessary to help close opportunities.
- Follow-up with prospective customers during evaluation phase.
- Experience of writing scripts in PowerShell, Perl / bash, etc.
- Experience interacting RESTful APIs
- Comfortable managing hands-on lab environments
- Working knowledge of public cloud environments including AWS and Azure, a plus
- Language skills: English, other languages depending on markets.
- Travel 40% of the time.

What you bring to the role
- BA / BS preferred.
- 5+ years of experience as an email security and/or archiving pre-sales/post-sales engineer, professional services consultant
- A strong understanding and solid, demonstrable knowledge of email security solutions and technologies, and RMM and PSA products.
- Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills.
- Able to work efficiently and effectively under pressure, while changing and realigning priorities.
- Excellent analytical skills with strong attention to detail.
- Experience of delivering effective presentations, demonstrations and technical support during selling cycle.
- Hands on experience of working with multiple data protection, data storage and/or email archiving solutions and technologies
- Hands on working knowledge of Microsoft Exchange and Office 365, Google Workplace, and IMAP/POP3 based email systems

The anticipated on-target earnings range for this role is $117,000 - $135,000 CAD. Actual compensation offered will be dependent upon the individual's skills, experience, and qualifications as they directly relate to the requirements of the position, the budget for the position, and applicable employment laws.
