About our opportunity
In this role you will take the lead in providing support and expert advice to internal and external stakeholders relating to procurement governance and probity, development of policy and procedures, consultancy and capability service to Council members and its clients.
You will also:
- contribute to the active identification, development and implementation of strategic procurement opportunities
- lead and manage the development and implementation of best practice procurement policy, directives, frameworks procedures and guidelines
- lead, manage and provide expert advice on systems that support the procurement and contract management function.
- manage and develop procurement capability initiatives including procurement workshops and training across Council
- build a high performance, continuous improvement and customer focused team
- undertake designated procurement audit activities for Council and manage the implementation of audit action plans
About you
We are looking for a professional leader who holds extensive experience in implementing and leading best practice procurement governance, paired with a drive to be part of a new approach will make you the perfect addition to the team.
You will be an expert in developing and implementing procurement and contracts frameworks, including contract formation, negotiation, and ongoing contract management.
With exceptional communication and negotiation skills, you will be well adept to lead and motivate the team to achieve objectives and to build quality working relationships with suppliers and other stakeholders.
