Job Introduction
We’re currently recruiting for an International Tax Partner to join the BBC Tax team.
This role sits in Group Tax reporting to the Group Tax Director. Group Tax is currently made up of five finance business partners, who manage corporate tax, VAT, employment taxes and expatriate taxes; three accountants who complete the UK VAT and corporate tax compliance; a finance business analyst in employment taxes and one trainee. There are also tax mangers in the US and India, who support with taxes in those jurisdictions.
This is newly created role to support with international tax aspects relating to the BBC’s News division and its international news bureaux.
Main Responsibilities
As an International Tax Partner you will
- Partner on international tax issues impacting the BBC News division and its international news bureaux.
- Work alongside cross-functional teams to ensure operating structures are correctly implemented.
- Lead on tax matters relating to international BBC News bureaux. Whilst also providing support to international bureaux.
- Undertake reviews of the international bureau’s historical tax compliance to identify any historical tax risk.
- Represent the BBC Group with all external agencies with respect to international tax matters
- Raise awareness of tax risk and effectively communicate these issues to the wider business.
- Monitor and evaluate key tax risks, creating risk management controls and processes.
Are you the right candidate
- Experience of providing International tax advice in a complex organisation
- Professional accounting and/or tax qualification ACA, ATT, CTA or equivalent
- Organised - Able to multi-task and prioritise effectively to meet deadlines
- Stakeholder management - building relationships and trust within an organization, including the ability to influence senior stakeholders and present complex data in an accessible way.
- Collaborative working – working effectively as part of a diverse team
- Experience of working with cross-border organisations and managing global tax risks within an Inhouse environment
