Hoare Lea is looking to recruit an individual with a strong background within the Purchase Ledger function to lead a small Accounts Payable team. The successful individual would be expected to communicate with stakeholders at all levels of the business; providing relevant insights and making appropriate challenges where necessary. This is fixed term Maternity cover, starting in Jul 24 through to Oct 25.

The role
- Processing of Purchase invoices & Expenses.
- Coordinating weekly payment runs and acting as the first point of review.
- Ownership and effective management of the AP function.
- Monthly reconciliation of aged creditors; identifying outstanding issues and following up with appropriate actions.
- Monthly reconciliation of proforma VAT account.
- Supplier statement analysis and reconciliations.
- Setting up new suppliers and maintaining supplier records.
- Invoice accruals.
- Fortnightly FX payment run.
- Direct line management of 2 members of staff; including performance appraisals & mentoring.
- Responsible for effectively managing the AP month end process.
- Process improvement.
- Management of the firm's virtual & corporate credit cards.
- The key point of contact for AP annual audit queries.
- Payment practices reporting
What we are looking for
- Excellent communicator.
- Good eye for detail, confident, and able to gain respect quickly.
- Able to take own initiative, deal with difficult situations calmly, and deliver when other members of the team are absent.
- Strong IT skills – Good working knowledge of the MS Office suite including Microsoft Word, and Microsoft Excel; advanced e-mail proficiency & etiquette required.
- Ability to prioritise, organise, and multi-task.
- Good work ethic when handling confidential documents and information.
- Confident – must deal with individuals at all levels.
