We're looking for a talented and experienced Operations and Infrastructure Lead to join our dynamic Generative AI team and play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our platform.
Position Overview:
As the Operations and Infrastructure Lead, you will be responsible for overseeing the design, implementation, and maintenance of our backend systems and infrastructure. You will lead a team of skilled engineers to ensure the reliability, scalability, and performance of our Generative AI platform, while also driving innovation and optimization initiatives.
This position can be performed as a Level 3 or Level 4, depending upon the candidate’s education and experience. The role can be performed as a virtual telecommuter.
Responsibilities Include:
Lead the building and maintaining our core systems and infrastructure.
Develop and implement best practices for backend operations, including monitoring, logging, alerting, and incident response.
Collaborate with front end operations and other cross-functional teams to define infrastructure requirements and ensure alignment with business objectives.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance system reliability, scalability, and performance.
Proactively identify and address potential issues and bottlenecks in our backend systems.
Manage cloud infrastructure resources and optimize costs without compromising on performance or reliability.
Stay current with emerging technologies and industry trends to drive innovation and maintain a competitive edge.
Engage with vendors on a regular basis to troubleshoot and implement best practices for the infrastructure of the applications.
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor's or master’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related field.
Proven experience in backend development and infrastructure management
Strong expertise in cloud technologies (AWS and Azure) as well as both Linux and Windows based server instances.
Basic knowledge of database technologies (e.g., SQL, NoSQL) and distributed computing systems.
Experience with DevOps practices and tools for automation, CI/CD, and configuration management.
Excellent problem-solving skills and a proactive mindset towards identifying and resolving technical challenges.
Strong leadership and communication skills with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams in an agile environment.
Preferred Qualifications
Hands-on experience with backend programming languages such as Python is a plus.
Demonstrated ability to provide leadership in a complex, technical environment.

Salary Range: $118,000 - $177,000
Salary Range 2: $146,300 -$219,500
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
