Northrop Grumman Mission Systems (NGMS), a leader in software defined, hardware enabled systems for national defense applications, is developing a next-generation Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) system for Engineering and Manufacturing product and process data. This system will be the foundation of our digital transformation and the future of advanced Engineering and Manufacturing capabilities and automation within the company, including Model-Based Engineering, Additive Manufacturing, and Cross-Discipline Collaboration.
As a member of the PLM Process and Architecture Team, you will be participating in the development effort for the PLM system architecture in close collaboration with Enterprise Services/IT, Engineering, Manufacturing, and senior business leadership to deliver an integrated PLM system that meets cost, schedule, and quality requirements.
The Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) Manufacturing Architect will support the deployment of Teamcenter throughout Northrop Grumman as the PLM Solution. As a chief technical lead, the selected candidate will work collaboratively with Engineering and Manufacturing leadership and key business representatives to shape the vision of the Northrop Grumman digital transformation and drive change implementation. The Manufacturing Architect will be responsible for mapping relevant business requirements to Teamcenter processes, documenting software development requirements, guiding the development team through implementation, and determining process sequencing and dependencies. The successful candidate will provide guidance to stakeholders and solution providers on implementation of complex processes in the Teamcenter environment based on requirements and gap analyses.
This position could be located at any of our NGMS locations such as Baltimore, MD, San Diego, CA, Rolling Meadows, IL, Woodland Hills, CA, or Virtual based on our successful candidate’s ability and qualifications.
Responsibilities Include:
- Collaborate with Program Leadership, Executive Sponsors, and Business partners to form the technical roadmap and digital transformation.
- Coordinate Functional groups to gather requirements and drive to-be business process with relevant stakeholders.
- Support product owners and developers in solution implementation.
- Define technical solutions and provide oversite of Teamcenter software development.
- Evaluate internal development efforts to align sector initiatives.
- Engage with suppliers to assess roadmaps and alignment with key applications and strategies.
- Determine root cause for system anomalies, defects, and escapes.
- Manage priority issues and drive them to closure.
Basic Qualifications:
- A minimum of 14 years of industry experience is required for this role.
- 7 years prior Manufacturing PLM experience as a solution or manufacturing architect.
- Proficiency with manufacturing applications such as Process Simulation, Plant Simulate, Line Designer, Electronic Work Instruction, and Manufacturing Process Planner/EasyPlan.
- Competence with CAD/CAM tools and processes.
- Knowledge of modeling languages like SysML, BPMN, or UML.
- Experience gathering requirements, prioritizing, and converting to Teamcenter functionality.
- Proficiency conducting Root Cause Analysis and implementing Corrective Action.
- Functional Knowledge of Teamcenter Java SOA APIs and server-side customization.
- Knowledge of executing gap analyses and developing plans to close identified differences.
- Experience leading technical teams with diverse backgrounds.
- Ability to interface with different teams throughout the digital thread and across the entire lifecycle, including Mission Assurance, Manufacturing, Engineering, Enterprise Resource Planning, and Logistics.
- US Citizenship is required for this position.
Preferred Qualifications:
- 10 years Teamcenter or Teamcenter Enterprise experience as a solution or manufacturing architect and/or developer.
- In-depth knowledge of the application of Teamcenter Data model, Workflow Design, and ITK to implement Manufacturing Solutions.
- Experience with complex Product Lifecycle Management Systems, especially Teamcenter applications related to Manufacturing.
- Knowledge of MES Systems, including SAP MES, SAP PEO, and Siemens OpCenter.
- Experience with Additive Manufacturing processes.
- Proficiency developing solution roadmaps.
- Knowledge of software versioning and how it relates to Teamcenter development processes in an enterprise environment.
- Experience with Agile development processes and tools.
- General understanding of the Software Lifecycle Process, end user support, and process documentation.
- Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
- Experience with Agile and SAFe methodology.
Salary Range: $150,000 - $225,000
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
