Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Job Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: - Assist Producer in overall maintenance of the assigned book of business by gathering information from insured for new business or for updating renewals, analyzing insured's needs and exposures to recommend appropriate coverages and risk management strategies, and preparing exposure and coverage reviews for periodic meetings with meetings.
- Acquires understanding of clients' business and insurance objectives and critically analyzes and compares insurance plans and HUB services to determine suitability for additional opportunities; assess client risk to ensure no coverage gaps exist
- Possess a detailed knowledge of the client's business and industry, being able to articulate applicable exposures to loss, insurance coverages, and appropriate/available risk management/control solutions
- Develop strong and productive professional relationships with insurance carrier marketing, underwriting, and risk control staff, including a detailed familiarity with each carrier's products and services in support of assigned clients
- Lead resolution of escalated complex service issues between clients and insurance carriers that require policy interpretation and experience-based judgment to resolve, also coordinating with claims team on such matters as applicable
- Manages, organizes, and conducts client meetings in coordination with Producer.
- Meet with the client prior to renewal to obtain renewal information and periodically during the year as needed to sustain the relationship
- Coordinate with Producer and Marketing Department to market new and renewal business for assigned accounts, including tasks such as:
- Enter new business in Applied Epic
- Update renewal applications in Applied Epic according to procedure
- Compile Loss Summary
- Complete supplemental applications
- Compile information and obtain OCP, Builders' Risk, and flood quotes (new business)
- Review new business and renewal quotes from carriers
- Prepare premium comparisons (when not done by Marketing Dept.)
- Review applications and proposals for accuracy
- Present and obtain all completed, signed forms required for binding
- Bind coverage with carrier or request Marketing Dept. to bind coverage
- Monitor Applied Epic suspense items for follow up on all processes, including policy receipt and delivery
- Deliver renewal proposals to the client at Producer's direction
- Review new or renewal policies and deliver policy binder to the client
- Review contracts for insurance coverage requirements
- Troubleshoot problems with audits, accounts receivables, processing, coverage issues, claims, etc.
- Prepare New Business and/or Lost Business monthly reports for management (distribution list will be provided)
- Back up Producer and Account Management/Service and Marketing Teams personnel on assigned accounts as needed.
- Provide technical expertise, including knowledge of insurance coverages, contracts, products and regulations on assigned accounts
- Assist Producer with assigned special projects and strategic planning for achieving new business and retention goals.
- Document tasks and correspondence with a high degree of accuracy in Applied Epic while adhering to established procedures and workflows
REQUIREMENTS:- Educational and Work Experience Requirements: High School diploma or equivalent required; college degree preferred. Work experience with seven (7) or more years work experience in insurance agency/brokerage commercial lines role and/or related relevant work experience in legal, financial, or accounting role involving technical knowledge and analysis of commercial property and casualty insurance products, contracts, claims, regulations, and coverage issues.
- Licensing Requirement: Presently hold an active Property and Casualty insurance license in compliance with Louisiana continuing education requirements, or willingness to obtain this license within three (3) months of date of hire.
- Advanced professional designation highly desirable (e.g. AAI, ARM, CIC).
- Willingness to travel approximately 25% of the time or less with reliable transportation.
- Experience with influencing C-level executives
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Detail-oriented self starter
- Strong leadership, mentoring, and team-building skills
- Significant skill in handling competing demands and projects
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to prioritize and delegate responsibility
- Mastery of virtual technology, including meeting scheduling, video display and screen sharing
