OverviewThe Business Development Specialist will play a key role in supporting the strategic objectives and driving growth for the firm's Regulatory practices including Antitrust, Financial Institutions Regulatory, and Foreign Direct Investment. These areas are multi-disciplinary and this position involves working closely with attorneys in our U.S. offices and other members of the Global Business Development team. The role will be an integral part of Cleary Gottlieb's Regulatory Business Development (BD) team based in Washington, D.C.
Responsibilities- Preparing pitches and RFP responses, as well as Regulatory credentials, and serving as a lead BD point person in preparing such materials, including:
- Coordinating with lead attorneys to develop strategic approaches;
- Drafting and customizing pitch and proposal content;
- Liaising with attorneys and other administrative departments to collect relevant information;
- Editing, assembling and submitting final pitches and proposals;
- Refining, growing, and maintaining the Firm's collection of materials as they relate to various Regulatory practices; and
- Maintaining records for, and analyzing outcomes of, pitches and fee proposals.
- Evaluating practice group strengths and conducting research on existing and prospective clients, competitor activity, and industry or market trends.
- Attending practice group and client team meetings and preparing agendas, materials and minutes in connection with such meetings.
- Supporting practice groups by compiling directory submissions, including Chambers, The Legal 500, and Global Competition Review and tracking deal information for league table submissions.
- Assisting the PR team with award submissions and other profile-raising initiatives.
- Liaising with the Events team to plan and execute internal and external events, seminars and webinars and assist with sponsorships.
- Working with the CRM team and the Regulatory BD Assistant to maintain and update BD activities and frequently used mailing lists in Firm CRM system.
- Liaising with the Communications team on website content and other practice-specific content.
QualificationsEducation/ Experience
- Bachelor's degree in marketing, business administration, liberal arts or related field desired.
- A minimum of four years of relevant marketing/business development experience is required. Law firm/professional services or marketing experience is highly desirable.

*The estimated base salary range for this position is $100,000 to $130,000 at the time of posting. The actual salary offered will depend on a variety of job-related factors, including skills, education, training, credentials, experience, scope and complexity of role responsibilities, geographic location, and performance. This role is exempt meaning it is not overtime pay eligible.
*This role has the ability to work remotely a maximum of two days per week, in lieu of working onsite. The Firm may designate the specific days you are required to work on-site.
