AVP, Account Executive to work in the Individual Life and Health North America unit.
Role DescriptionTheAccount Executive is responsible for profitable growth through the developmentof active and prospective clients, and the maintenance of such. Reporting to the SVP, Head of Individual Lifeof General Re Life Corporation (GRL), the incumbent will be responsible for anassigned client and prospect list and will represent GRL at key industryfunctions.
Theemphasis of this role is on the development and support of our Individual Life business. The role focuses on supporting the SeniorAccount Executives in growing reinsurance business with existing clients,acquiring new clients, and developing mutually beneficial research and serviceopportunities. This is a self-starter,client relationship role which demands the management of successful relationships,not only with clients and prospects but also within the organization. The positionrequires considerable cross-functional interaction and collaboration withcolleagues to ensure that client needs and opportunities are well-known and metwith outstanding service.
Core responsibilitiesof the role include managing client relationships, new business development,reinsurance product and service development, and synergistic businessopportunity development.
- Provide support to Senior Account Executives with the marketing and sales activities of existing and prospective clients, as well as direct client relationship management of a small book of clients.
- Stay on top of major trends and information related to the life insurance industry
- Support the Senior Account Executives in developing new and retaining existing clients, subject to profitability and risk considerations
- Maintain good relationships with reinsurance buyers
- Understand the financial and risk management needs of clients, be an innovative problem solver and help develop solutions/ products to meet those needs
- Collaborate internally across multiple departments in support of client needs and developing specific analysis and responses (Pricing, Ops, Legal, IT, Market Research, etc)
- Ensure continuous client contact to maintain awareness of developments affecting the client
- Ensure required service levels are being met
- Present accurate, professional quotes to clients
- Be actively involved in corporate events and event planning
- Create and deliver marketing presentations for direct clients and in support of Senior Account Executives
- Maintain MS Dynamics CRM for book of clients, take and post comprehensive meeting notes.
- Continuously maintain excellent client and prospect documentation
Role Qualifications and Experience- Prefer a minimum of 7 years experience in the Individual Life or Life reinsurance business. Prefer candidates with recent FSA designation or Career ASA. Prior Life pricing experience would be a plus.
- Strong understanding of the Individual Life marketplace, industry trends, and current hot topics.
- Comprehensive Individual Life product knowledge.
- Excellent communicator including listening, verbal and written.
- Strong negotiation skills.
- Excellent Microsoft Office, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams, and Dynamics skills
- Self-starter with the ability to take initiative in a team-based environment.
- Willingness to travel regularly.
Salary Range106,000.00 - 178,000.00 USD
