Salary Range: $60,000 - $65,000 City Experiences is seeking a National Tourism Sales Associate for our Business Operations. About You: This person will be adaptable, dynamic, and embody City Experiences' RESPECT Service System.
About the Opportunity: City Experiences' mission is to create amazing experiences for our guests. The successful National Tourism Sales Associate will provide a variety of support to the account manager team, ranging from selling and building contracts to driving prospecting efforts. Additionally, this position will assist in the post-booking portion of the sales process and ensuring continuous customer satisfaction and maximized revenues and profitability.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities: - Sales Focus:
- Manage bookings including but not limited to Travel Agencies and low volume ($25K< annually) Tour Operators with single port requests.
- Properly vet RFP inquires from new tour operators, routing to the account management team thereafter.
- Manage Sightseeing bookings and FIT bookings, by booking either directly into Anchor or facilitating through the B2B portal.
- Support the account manager team by assisting in Series Business, which may include creating and cloning orders.
- Serve as the point person on Talkdesk, to include fielding calls and vetting as necessary before passing over to the account management team.
- Develop a comprehensive knowledge of all regional vessels, products, enhancements, pricing, and scripting to be effective sellers.
- Attain weekly prospecting goals through proactive client outreach as directed by the National Director of Sales to identify warm leads for the account management team.
- Calls on new prospecting lists as directed by tourism directors, with goal of driving new business across the portfolio.
- Sales Support:
- Contribute to client servicing; ability to prioritize overflow of inbound port leads, along with quick response and continued engagement before passing to an account manager.
- Take the lead on touching base with clients 90 days prior to event to collect deposits on behalf of the account management team.
- Supports tourism team in their efforts to collect all balances, whether pay in advance or direct bill.
- Handle objections as they arise by using vast product knowledge.
- As directed, take the lead on post-contract follow-ups including passenger count adjustments and upsells to groups, with the goal of driving incremental revenue.
- Successfully upsells existing guests to higher-value options and enhancements.
- Ability to be on-site, plus maintain a flexible schedule weekly, including conducting site visits and meeting clients as needed to support the account management team in port.
- Attend networking events with the account manager team, with the goal of driving awareness within our local markets.
- Assist in local FAM trips, along with riding these events to interact with prospecting and existing clients.
- High attention to detail, including complete and accurate product details are communicated.
- As directed, being present during highly detailed events, serving as a liaison between sales and operations.
- Administrative:
- Use Salesforce CRM system to effectively plan and manage the activities in the assigned markets and to track productivity of all sales efforts.
- Use Salesforce CRM & Reservation systems to accurately book and manage reservations and cruise details.
- Maintains good organizational skills through time management, setting priorities, and accurate paperwork.
- Produces necessary weekly reports as assigned by National Tourism Director.
- Attains fleet standard for weekly activities, to be accomplished by inputting all guest interactions into Salesforce.
Requirements & Qualifications: - Minimum of 2-years total sales experience consisting of at least 1-year of outside sales experience.
- Prior experience within the tourism industry is preferred, but not required
- Prefer hospitality experience but not required.
- Proficient with Microsoft office products as well and CRM software.
- Analytical skills required to identify and exploit selling opportunities.
- Ability to set appointments with clients and sell in person.
- Proposal writing is required, must communicate effectively in written form.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships as required by job responsibility.
- Must have ability to persuade and influence people.
- Must be able to listen effectively, assesses the situation, determine relevant issues, identify solutions and gain consensus.
