*ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS*
The successful Partnership Specialist will:
1. Partner with the Partnership Consultant to create an outreach plan where states and schools are prioritized based on perceived need, market growth, upcoming events, school buying cycles, and other factors
2. Perform research on prospect’s websites, Board notes, news articles, and other social media to understand their mission, potential needs, and goals prior to outreach to increase chances of scheduling a qualification meeting
3. Conduct outreach to multiple decision makers at targeted schools, management organizations, and influencers through various means including phone, email, LinkedIn, text, etc. (Approximately 35-50 phone calls daily approaching upwards of 100 calls per day during peak conference season)
4. Engage with charter schools to initiate relationships, identify their business needs, and provide a broad overview of Vertex support services in an effort to schedule qualification meetings for the Partnership Consultant. Such services will likely include the following (but may include any service
Vertex provides):
a. Marketing / enrollment support
b. Finance / accounting
c. HR support
d. Talent acquisition
e. NSLP administration
f. IT Support
g. Campus Development
5. Qualify prospects through a consultative sales process that involves questioning to drive deeper
discovery and handle objections as needed
6. Conduct personalized outreach to conference attendees, booth visitors, webinar registrants and
attendees using multiple means of communication to initiate conversations and drive new
business
7. Regularly refine and update the contact lists in our CRM as new contacts become available from research, conferences, webinars, etc.
8. Travel to conferences and events as needed to assist with booth set-up and take down, interact with prospects and influencers in an effort to build relationships, quickly assess their needs, capture contact information, and drive the needed next steps to create tangible opportunities by scheduling follow-up discussions with the Partnership Consultant after events
9. Regularly report market findings to DNSP so that organizational messaging and business intelligence can be updated accordingly
10. Partner with the Marketing and Communications teams as needed to coordinate outreach campaigns which can help generate warm leads while ensuring that the organization does not overwhelm the market with too many messages
11. Follow-up with all inbound leads within 24 hours of inquiry
12. Craft email content directed to school leaders with special attention given to grammar and punctuation.
13. Document all communication in Hubspot in order to track progress, create a sales pipeline, and strengthen relationships with prospects.
14. Regularly present opportunity and pipeline status updates and progress to the DNSP and seek their input and support.
15. Have the ability to deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where limited standardization exists.
*KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES*
Education, Licensure, or Certification
● Bachelor's Degree or equivalent and experience Work Experience or Related Experience
● Minimum 2 years of relevant experience with lead prospecting, lead qualification, and outreach to
cold leads in a services industry. Preferred candidates will have strong experience in the education
industry.

● Strong listening and comprehension skills with the ability to deliver complex messages in a simplified manner

* Ability to understand the broad array of services Vertex provides to schools
* Can articulate those services and demonstrate the benefits of a customer outsourcing them to Vertex
* Gathers leads and arranges meetings
* Proactively works with potential customers to address questions, resolve concerns
* Continues forward in efforts to identify and obtain new customers, and persistent despite obstacles and setbacks
● Strong diplomacy and interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships and demonstrate a high level of service and responsiveness
● Superb written and verbal communication skills in a variety of settings (one-on-one, small groups, large groups, varying position levels, etc.)
● Crisp presentation skills
● Strong attention to detail as well as demonstrated ability to see the whole picture, think critically, identify issues, and create solutions
● Proficient in Google Workspace (Google Docs, Google Sheets, Google Slides, etc.) and Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
● Highly resourceful team-player who has the ability to work cooperatively with executive team and other peers and also be effective working independently
● Models effective collaboration with external bodies and with all Vertex departments
● Over-communicates to ensure clarity, except in situations where discretion is necessary
● Credits others for their contributions and accomplishments

*BACKGROUND CHECKS*
● The incumbent in this position will be required to pass a criminal history background check
● Must be able to obtain and hold a valid IVP Level One Fingerprint Clearance Card at all times
*PHYSICAL AND TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS / WORK ENVIRONMENT*
● Primary work location for this position is flexible and could be remote if the job functions can reasonably performed from outside of the main office in Chandler, AZ
● This position will require travel throughout the US, 25- 50% of the time with heightened travel during conference season
● This position requires the need to lift objects (up to 25 pounds) on occasion
● This position may require sitting for long periods at times, talking on the phone, standing, kneeling, stooping and long periods of concentration
Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The total compensation target (TCT) for this position ranges from $60,000/year in our lowest geographic market up to $80,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
