Job Description: Payroll Specialist (Part-Time, Temporary)
H2: The Position
My client is seeking an experienced Payroll Specialist for a part-time, temporary position. The job will span 11-12 months due to parental leave and will require an average of three working days per week.

The client is a leading technology company specializing in the nonprofit sector. Offering a diverse range of products and services, they assist organizations in various areas, including fundraising, donor management, marketing, and financial management.
H2: Job Responsibilities
H3: Key Duties
- Processing monthly payroll for all three of our UK entities, roughly consisting of 300 employees
- Collating and processing all UK payroll data into ADP, IRIS (Star), and Activpayroll
- Preparing monthly payroll reconciliations
- Leading new payroll software implementation project and providing expertise on best payroll practices to streamline operations
- Working closely with the HR team to ensure all payroll data is captured and resolve any system or process issues
- Managing the payroll inbox, handling employee queries, liaising with the HR team at head office, and other bodies (such as HMRC, Pension Regulator, etc.)
- Completing Year-End procedures and producing P60s
- Producing and distributing P11Ds, assisting with annual PSA submissions and dealing with other ad hoc payroll tax related queries

H3: Qualifications
- Previous experience within a Payroll position
- Solid understanding of payroll principles, tax regulations, and statutory requirements in the UK
- Strong knowledge of different payroll systems and software, with expertise in implementing automation and process improvements
- Exceptional stakeholder management skills, including the capacity to collaborate effectively across departments and with external partners
- Outstanding communication skills (both verbal and written) and the ability to effectively convey complex payroll concepts to various audiences
- Advanced proficiency in Excel
- Adherence to GDPR, confidentiality, and data protection legislation
