We are seeking an engineering leader to help build and lead a diverse team of engineers to design, develop, and deliver Spunk’s Identity solutions. Splunk’s Identity solutions allows customers to connect their own identity and access management solution to Splunk or use Splunk’s built in solution. This technology space within Splunk is used by every customer during every interaction with the product and maintains a high security and operational bar in order to protect our customers. The ideal candidate is an experienced leader able to work with product management, other engineering leaders, and their team to envision and execute on world class Identity solutions. Collaboration and partnerships are paramount in our company culture and we want leaders who can communicate at a high level but also talk in low level details to achieve the greater goal.
Responsibilities:
- Recruit, mentor, and grow world class engineers.
- Partner with cross functional team members to develop and maintain a well defined roadmap, while balancing technological excellence.
- Lead technical direction and architecture with engineering team members.
- Facilitate coordination of a scrum team to successfully deliver committed feature sets.
- Drive practices in training and development, and drive efficiencies across multiple feature teams.
- Build a culture of continuous learning, growth, and sharing of technological insights.
Requirements:
- 8+ years of hands-on technical experience.
- 2+ years of direct management experience of highly technical engineers.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or another quantitative field. We will consider equivalent practical experience.
- Experience in delivering multiple complex technical projects within an Agile environment.
- Experience with Identity and Identity standards (SAML, OAuth, OIDC, LDAP, SCIM, Etc)
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Proficiency with backend systems built using microservices, monolithic architecture, containerized infrastructure, and waterfall and agile delivery practices.
- Demonstrated ability to build a culture of team building and people management.
- Entrepreneurial drive and ability to reach stretch goals in a fast-paced environment.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.

Base Pay Range
SF Bay Area, Seattle Metro, and New York City Metro Area
Base Pay Range: $163,200.00 - 224,400.00 per year
California (excludes SF Bay Area), Washington (excludes Seattle Metro), Washington DC Metro, and Massachusetts
Base Pay Range: $148,000.00 - 203,500.00 per year
All other cities and states excluding California, Washington, Massachusetts, New York City Metro Area and Washington DC Metro Area.
Base Pay Range: $136,800.00 - 188,100.00 per year
Splunk provides flexibility and choice in the working arrangement for most roles, including remote and/or in-office roles. We have a market-based pay structure which varies by location. Please note that the base pay range is a guideline and for candidates who receive an offer, the base pay will vary based on factors such as work location as set out above, as well as the knowledge, skills and experience of the candidate. In addition to base pay, this role is eligible for incentive compensation and may be eligible for equity or long-term cash awards.
