Job Description Qualifications:
The Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) team is seeking a Senior Product Lifecycle Engineering Manager located in El Segundo, CA. This position will lead the Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) Team across Space, Intelligence & Weapons System (SI&WS) programs, lead employees across multiple sites, and provide resources to several Enterprise and BDS Initiatives for Product Lifecycle Management.
As a leader in the organization, you will have a key role in managing the development, implementation and integration of our engineering Configuration Management, Data Management and Engineering Release, PLM BDS Processes, and PLM Data systems. This position manages employees performing engineering and technical activities in the area of Configuration Management, Data Management, and Release Management, develops and executes project and process plans, implements policies and procedures, and sets operational goals. Additionally, this manager will develop training & knowledge base tools to improve employee skillset and capabilities.
This leader will have responsibility for incorporating the Product Lifecycle Management, policies and procedures, and developing/managing metrics to ensure progress in engineering maturity. This role also has responsibility to strengthen and bring visibility to areas such as Enterprise developed PLM Design Practices, PLM Solution Kits and PLM Playbook, process and tool implementation, integration, and overall development excellence practices to drive safety and quality early into the Configuration Management process. This manager will own the responsibility to oversee workforce development necessary to complete Product Lifecycle Management statement of work (SOW) including demand planning and acquisition of engineering talent.
Position Responsibilities:
- Manages employees performing engineering and technical activities in the areas of Engineering Product Lifecycle with focus on configuration management, data management and the engineering release process execution.
- Develops and executes integrated PLM plans, policies and procedures at multiple levels (departmental, program, site, BDS and Enterprise) and provides input and execution of business and technical strategies, goals, objectives.
- Acquires resources for BDS, department, site and program activities.
- Understand team budgets and allocations in order to staff appropriately and provide technical management and leads process improvements.
- Perform proposal activities and development of estimates for the PLM support.
- Develops and maintains relationships and partnerships with customers, stakeholders, peers, partners and direct reports.
- Provides oversight, via metrics and effective communication, and approval of technical approaches, products, processes and tools.
- Conduct performance conversations and reviews.
- Manages, develops, coaches, mentors and motivates and provide developmental opportunities and job assignments to enhance employee performance and expand capabilities.
- Provide PLM Provide technical oversight of technical approaches, products and processes across BDS.
- Incorporate Speak, Seek and Listen (SSL) and promote Safety Management System practices in day-to-day activities.
This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at the listed location.
Work Authorization:
This position requires an active U.S. Secret Security Clearance (U.S. Citizenship Required). (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active)
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
- Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study.
- 10+ years of experience in Configuration Management.
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
- Managing a Configuration Management Organization.
- Understanding of CM Skills and resource execution.
- 10+ years of experience in Configuration Management/Engineering Release/Data Management.
- 10+ years as a First Line Leader.
- Proven ability to effectively communicate to both executives and engineers at all levels.
- Proven ability to manage and empower teams in ambiguous environments.
- Experience building organizational talent pipeline in engineering.
- Experience in complex integration across multi-functional teams.
- Experience in safety and risk management processes.
- The ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.
Summary pay range: 156,400 – 211,600
