Position Overview
Boeing India Engineering is currently looking Lead Propulsion Fuel Analysis Engineer to join their team in Bangalore, Karnataka. This position will focus on supporting the Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA), Boeing Defense, Space and Security (BDS) and Boeing Global Services (BGS) business organizations.
A successful candidate will understand the importance of collaboration and shall work with the Engineering Manager, Project lead & Aerospace Mechanical Design and Systems expert to develop or optimize the designs, engineering process, analyze the supplier quality issues, support the development of cutting-edge technologies and digital initiatives.
Position Responsibilities:
- Basic knowledge of organic and inorganic chemistry
- Basic knowledge of analytical chemistry
- Provide support for safety and compliance investigations
- Manage and prioritize multiple tasks in support of certification and airplane delivery schedules
- Interface with suppliers and external partners to drive successful collaborations on Propulsion Fuels projects
- Coordinate with internal partners such as EME, RM&T, ASE, Stress, Flight Test, Service Engineering, and Reg Admin to successfully meet project goals and schedules
- Lead teams to assure proper integration of propulsion/fuels changes with other airplane systems
- Communicate project status, risks, issues, and opportunities to Propulsion and Program Leadership
- Knowledge of propulsion system components, interfaces and their design/integration variables, within aerospace vehicles. Ability to interface with engine and component suppliers.
- Knowledge of methods, processes and requirements related to safety, reliability, maintainability and supportability of propulsion systems on aerospace vehicles.
- Capability to communicate to customers and prepares development plans and proposals
- In this role, the Engineer will work independently or with minimum supervision to come up with conceptual and detailed designs based on the requirements. And Pro-actively seek information and direction to successfully complete the statement of work.
- This position will participate and support initiatives of Boeing India organization related to engineering excellence, employee development, customer engagement etc.
- This position will be located in Boeing India Engineering and Technology Center, Bangalore, India.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
- MSC or PHD in Chemistry/ Chemical engineering or equivalent disciplines.
- 12-16 Years of relevant Work experience.
- Solid understanding of organic and inorganic chemistry
- Good knowledge of polymer chemistry
- Understanding of structure – property relationships
- Needs to be fluent in modern instrumental chemistry – GC-MS, GCxGC-MS/FID, ESI ToF MS, EDS, IPS, NMR, etc
- Knowledge of airplane fuels systems and architecture
- Basic coding skills
- Strong technical skills and demonstrated ability to understand complex problems
- Strong project and time management skills; Must be able to manage and prioritize multiple projects in support of key milestones and aircraft delivery schedules
- Excellent communication skills; Ability to clearly communicate complex scenarios with internal and external Leaders and technical SMEs
- Experience working multi-disciplinary projects
- Knowledge of airplane safety is preferred
- Experience with certification is preferred
- Understanding of large transport category aircraft certification process is preferred
- Familiarity with CFR 25.981 and/or 25.1309 is preferred
- Able to work under general supervision and self-direct work based on needs of customers, product, and stakeholders
- Able to represent the company professionally in demanding environments
- Able to work effectively with the entire value stream to accomplish desired results
- Able to work effectively with people from diverse backgrounds
- Able to independently develop innovative solutions that meet business targets
- Involvement with SCD Qualification Programs and Equipment Management is desired but not required
- Perform with positive attitude and highest ethics.
- Able to verify accuracy of technical and non-technical data. Gathers relevant data for root cause analysis and produces changes to resolve the discrepancies in design packages.
- Must be able to work collaboratively with cross-functional team. Must be willing to work flexible hours (early or late as needed) to interface with Boeing personnel around the world.
Typical Education & Experience:
Education/experience typically acquired through advanced education and typically 12 to 16 years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
