Work as a senior automation engineer
As a senior automation engineer you would work as a part of System integration team. The team is responsible of delivery projects system and software preparation, setup, testing, troubleshooting, and supporting for ALD process and wafer handling platforms. The team has specialists in motion control, robotics, process control and HMI. Automation engineers work in close cooperation with software development, production, electrical, mechanical and process engineers to develop wafer processing equipment that are shipped all over the world for semiconductor industry.
Your work consists of taking a lead role in big customer delivery projects and making sure software and automation requirement are reach on time. In this versatile role you would use your programming, automation, and hardware skills to further improve wafer handling platforms software preparation and setting up for delivery projects and to develop faster testing practices for them.

Are you the one we are looking for?
To succeed in this role, you need to have at least bachelor’s degree in automation engineering and five years of relevant work experience gained preferably from industrial automation. Working knowledge from process control or robotics and understanding of industrial equipment testing are seen as an advantage.
Recent experience from automation system manufacturers and different development environments and some C++ are required. Experience from Beckhoff and Omron PLC’s preferred. We organize our work by using Scrum and JIRA, and source code repositories are in git.
Solid PLC understanding and SW, HW and IO- troubleshooting skills are needed in this position together with good understanding of electrical and mechanical engineering. Good working knowledge of different servos, fieldbuses and databases is an advantage. Reading electrical schematics and piping/instrumentation diagrams is essential part of the job. Understanding of equipment-to-host data communication in industrial environment would be highly appreciated.
As a senior automation engineer, good communication skills are required to effectively describe various technical issues. Ability to work with people from different backgrounds and coaching skills for younger automation engineers are an asset for a senior automation engineer.
We use English in our daily communication, so Finnish skill is not mandatory. Other language skills are naturally seen as a big asset, as you would also work in customer interface.
