Director, FP&A - Finance Business Partner to Data Cloud & AI
Role Description
The Finance & Strategy (F&S) team serves as a trusted adviser to the business to help inform and guide decision making through business partner support and insightful analyses. We are looking for bright, goal oriented individuals that will succeed in a fast-paced environment and thrive in building and improving processes that will allow the company to scale.
Within the F&S organization, this position will serve as a key business partner to the Salesforce teams on the cutting edge of developing Data and AI platforms and other related technologies, aka “Data Cloud“ and the ”Einstein1 Platform“.
The position will balance maintaining financial control with strategic decision support and custom analyses to help guide the business towards its financial goals.
Your Impact
- Serve as primary Finance Business partner to the GMs / Product Managers for DataCloud and Generative Ai as well as the supporting Engineering leadership teams
- Establish a network of subject matter experts from across the company, earning trust and gaining an understanding of relevant drivers and performance measurements to develop a complete 360 view of these products’ business model
- Work closely with TMP leaders to align on investment decisions using ROI analysis and other decision frameworks to optimize resource allocations and drive financial performance
- In partnership with our Infrastructure teams - analyze and monitor the Cost to Serve model for Salesforce Customer Data Platform and other new data products
- Collaborate with our Business Development teams to assess the impact of new partnerships opportunities and contract economics
- Drive operational improvement and standardization in partnership with the F&S Center of Excellence (“COE”) and provide guidance and indirect mentorship to junior members
- Collaborate on Long Range Plans (“LRP”) to ensure strategic alignment across the enterprise
- Engage on a variety of ad hoc projects which could include; new product launches, merger integrations, accounting determinations, subscription economic reviews, and other duties as assigned
Required Skills and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics or other relevant subject area. MBA and professional certifications valued
- A minimum of 8 years of relevant experience in finance, consulting, or analytics
- Proven track record of achievement, operational improvement and professional growth
- Extensive financial modeling experience
- Proficiency with financial systems; in particular enterprise grade ERP, Planning & Analysis, and BI systems
- Excellent communication skills, including the ability to partner with diverse customers to stay aligned, gather results and present outcomes
- Ability to work autonomously while maintaining connections to a our globally distributed teams
- Intellectual curiosity and a willingness to learn and grow
- Problem solving and analysis skills, strong business judgment and the ability to communicate risks and opportunities
- Charismatic storyteller, lover of building relationships and collaborating in a cross-disciplinary environment
