As a Lead Product Manager, Billing & Payments, you will be part of the Pricing, Billing and Payments vertical at ShipBob and will own the charter for merchant and partner Billing. The billing team’s vision is to provide merchants with a more scalable, automated, and transparent invoicing capability; generate granular breakdown of each transaction, while maintaining secure and compliant products and processes, which can be customized based on the ShipBob’s Billing strategy. This will include improving accuracy, reliability, scalability, and automation of our Billing products. You will work with Merchants and SFN partners to identify gaps in their current billing experience and fix those by launching relevant features. You will also work closely with our internal stakeholders in Pricing, Finance, Engineering, and Data teams to ensure that our billing processes are automated and compliant.
This role is for someone who loves diving into the technical details while also driving the overall strategy. Success in this role will rely heavily on both technical prowess and the ability to influence a broad set of stakeholders. Scaling our platforms, unlocking innovation and driving efficiencies with our partners are key objectives for this role.
About You:
What you’ll do:
- Run the development and rollout of ShipBob’s Billing team.
- Scale our platforms, unlocking innovation and driving efficienices with our partners
- Collaborate closely with Engineering, Design, Product Marketing, Product Operations, Sales, Finance, and other cross-functional teams to achieve shared objectives.
- Help identify key initiatives to accelerate the product and break down initiatives into incremental releases that deliver business value.
- Guide research efforts to understand market needs and user pain points to inform product strategy and deliver solutions that meet customer needs.
- Leverage data and insights to influence new product development; define and track key performance metrics that measure success of products.
- Work with a scrum team of engineers - build a prioritized backlog, run agile ceremonies, and mitigate risks and blockers for the team.
- Keep stakeholders and customers informed of roadmap, milestones and risks.

What you’ll bring to the table
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or another relevant field
- Total experience of 9-12 years with at least 5 years of agile product management experience (or related experience).
- Established track record of delivering high-quality software products and consistently meeting milestones and business objectives.
- Experience building B2B products and the billing experience for customers.
- Exceptional problem-solving skills.
- Relentless user-centricity.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, tailored for diverse global audiences.
- A systematic and data-oriented mindset.
- Ability to influence without authority.
- Comfortable with ambiguity.
- Exceptional resilience.
- A bias for action and willingness to tackle new obstacles.
- Experience with API development is a plus.
- E-commerce and retail/merchandising experience is a plus.
- Prior experience in B2B billing is critical. Start-up experience is a plus.
