The Opportunity
This is a 12-week internship starting in May or June 2024, depending on your availability. Nutanix offers both remote and hybrid internships where you would work from the Durham, NC, or San Jose, CA, office 2-3 days/week. Submit your application by January 20, 2024.

What You’ll Do
- Collaborate with technical staff/leaders to design and create design documents.
- Depending on the team you're assigned, generate code that enhances product features and increases the speed and efficiency of the functionality of products.
- Work with a mentor to define project objectives and key results.
- Our interns work across a range of teams and projects spanning a variety of technology areas, including, but not limited to:
- Disaster Recover (hybrid employment based in San Jose, CA – backend C++/Python automation and scripting/Linux O/S/microservices/API services and familiar with multi-thread and dynamic programming concepts.
- Objects/File Storage(hybrid employment based in San Jose, CA) – backend C++/AWS-S3 storage bucket or objects storage/Linux O/S.
- Catalog/UI(hybrid employment based in San Jose, CA) – backend programming in Golang, Python, Java/Docker, K8s, Linux, and/or VM+.
- Stay connected with your manager and peers through regular meetings and Slack chats.
What You’ll Bring
- You are pursuing a bachelor’s in computer science or a related field.
- You have taken two or more courses in the areas of Operating/Distributed/Database Systems, Parallel Programming/Computing, or the Fundamentals of Computer Architecture
- You are fluent in one or more of the following languages: backend C++, Golang
- Exposure to or projects related to one or more of the following systems: Cloud Infrastructure, Database Systems, File Systems, Object Storage Systems, Distributed Storage, or Open-Source Frameworks
- 3-12 months of prior internship experience.
- This position is for those pursuing an undergraduate degree.

The Process

- Baseline coding skills assessment in the language of your choice
- First Round: Interview with one of our Talent Advisors to dive into your unique experiences and motivators.
- Second Round: Technical interviews with our hiring teams to showcase your skills.
- Students who advance to this round will receive preparation and details on any pre-assignments to complete.
- Students attending the second round should expect multiple interviews with Nutanix engineers designed to assess your technical skills and role readiness, motivation for the opportunity at Nutanix, and, when required, a pre-assignment aligned to the role you’ll be playing on our team. Each meeting will allow you to ask questions and learn more about the team you’ll potentially work with.
- Final Decision: Offers extended! Finalists can expect offers w/in 24-48 hours after an interview if they receive favorable evaluations from each interviewer.

*The pay range for this position at the commencement of employment is expected to be between $35-$49/hour; however, base pay may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may or may not include other elements, including a sign-on bonus, restricted stock units, and discretionary awards in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits such as vacation, sick time, and parental leave), dependent on the position offered.
