Applied Materials’ process team in Material Engineering Technology Accelerator (META center) is searching for an intern to join our team in Summer 2024. Our group is utilizing Applied Materials’ leading-edge technologies to solve customer’s high value problems in the research and fabrication phases. This position will provide the opportunity to get your hands on the most advanced technologies including the EUV process etc. It will help you gain the knowledge of semiconductor fabrication, establish the understanding of variable process, and develop the skills of design of experiment, systematic data analysis and problem solving etc.
The position will entail the following:
- Work together with senior process engineers to collaborate with internal customer and deliver solutions to variable projects.
- Lead small development projects involving project management, design of experiment, wafer processing, data collection and analysis, documentation, and data presenting.
- Hands on the process set up, recipe building and operating the advanced fab operation system.
- Support process engineers through procurement, shipping, and inventory functions.
Requirements
- Student must be pursuing a Master's degree program in in materials science, chemical engineering, electrical engineering, physics or chemistry, or related field.
- Student must be in good academic standing at their university, with a preferred GPA of 3.0 or above on a 4.0 scale
- Experience in semiconductor processing or manufacturing preferred
- A passionate drive, a curious mind and adaptable spirit are expected.

Compensation
$36 per hour
The rate offered to a selected candidate will be based on a number of factors including location and education level and will vary depending on confirmed job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
