About the role:

Step into a pivotal role at Eye Security and spearhead the growth and efficiency of our security operations across Europe!
As the Director of Engineering, you will work on Eye’s Products, Internal and customer-facing products. Cyber Security and Insurance products and tooling. We’re looking for someone with strong engineering knowledge, expertise, and leadership experience. You’ll be responsible for setting up the vision for the team, adjusting and advising on state-of-the-art engineering practices and setting up the tone for the future. We're looking for someone who is keen on rolling up the sleeves and helping the team if needed, as we work towards our ambitions.

What you will do:

Lead our Engineering Teams: You will lead our Software Engineering teams and our Platform / DevOps team. You will report directly to the CTO.
Grow our Engineering capacity the right way: Working with TA to identify, recruit, and retain top engineering talent. Develop strategies for team expansion in close collaboration with our CTO and VP Product.
Engineering Practices and Metrics: Establish and refine engineering practices and workflows, that will be used not only in your team, but all across the organisation, as Engineering is happening in other units as well. You will key metrics to measure and enhance team performance and productivity.
Interdepartmental Collaboration: Work closely with various departments, including Product, Cyber Security (our internal Hacker force), and People and Culture, to align engineering efforts with company objectives.
Product and Project Delivery: Ensure robust interaction between Product Management and Engineering, delivering on product commitments and contributing to successful software development.
Workforce Development: Collaborate with People and Culture to develop comprehensive job profiles, job families, and growth paths within the engineering team

Job requirements

What you will need:

Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to effectively articulate technical and non-technical concepts across various teams.
Proven ability in hiring and building high-performance teams.
Strong people management skills with a humble, servant-leader approach.
Experience in Agile methodology and familiarity with tools like Gitlab, AWS, Terraform.
Demonstrable experience in software development, preferably Go, Python, NodeJS running in serverless and/or microservices environments in AWS. Shown track record of success in software product environments.
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
Extensive experience in a leadership role within an engineering context, ideally in the Cyber Security.
