As a Security Engineering Manager you'll have the opportunity to work with subject matter experts in industry leading technologies deployed at scale to protect our products from an always evolving threat landscape. You will be responsible for driving the delivery of strategic and operational goals, creating team culture, and collaborating with other cross-functional teams to ensure solutions are effective and in alignment with Nielsen’s strategic goals.

Responsibilities
- Lead a team of engineers responsible for global security technology deployment and operations across multi-cloud and on-prem environments
- Manage work-intake, prioritization, and execution of strategic projects and technology operations using Agile practices and tools
- Drive maturity in security services by identifying and implementing measurable outcome-based metrics such as Mean Time to Resolve (MTTR) and technology uptime
- Drive and enable the security engineering team to modernize security workloads and adopt DevSecOps best practices
- Maintain on-call operations and ticketing queues for the engineering team
- Provide strategic guidance and oversight for security and infrastructure services that operate within our platforms and hybrid cloud and on-prem environments globally
- Serve as the main point of contact for security technology service delivery across the security organization
- Partner with security architecture in researching technologies to continue to improve data security controls within the enterprise
- Focus on standardization, suitability, and integration of existing and new technology in order to maximize security capabilities, minimize spend, and provide best-in-class technology services to our internal customers
- Serve as an escalation point for security related issues or outages
- Support definition of security policies, controls, and processes
- Manage and measure technology vendors and managed service providers (MSPs) according to contracts and SLAs
- Maintain an open, collaborative, and consultative culture supported by outreach and education
- Identify and foster stakeholder engagement across the business in order to be successful with these responsibilities
- Share knowledge and actively bridge relationships into other verticals both within the security organization and with business partners
Qualifications
- 7+ years of direct security engineering experience, including direct management experience
- Expertise in the fields of infrastructure, network security, endpoint security, and technology operations
- Expertise cloud computing standards and controls (AWS, GCP, Azure)Leadership both in technical acumen and in the management of people and processes Experience with a variety of security solutions such as EDR, SIEM, DLP, CASB, NGFW, IAM, email security, etc.
- Superior communication, problem solving, organization, collaboration, presentation, and people skills
- Knowledge of common information security standards, such as ISO, CIS, NIST
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team with minimal supervision
- Ability to communicate technical details in a clear, understandable manner
- Security certification such as SANS/GIAC, CISSP, CEH, OSCP

A reasonable estimate of salary range for a new employee to be offered this role would be $66,000 - $225,000 which would be adjusted based on each employee's geographic location. The position of each employee within a compensation range at Nielsen is dependent on several individual circumstances, such as experience, training, certifications and other business requirements/needs.
