We are currently seeking a Vehicle Quality Specialist for Motor-Controls. Our ideal candidate exhibits a can-do attitude and approaches his or her work with vigor and determination. Candidates will be expected to demonstrate technical excellence in their respective fields, to possess the ability to learn quickly and to strive for perfection within a fast-paced environment.
You Will:
- Validate that motor control hardware/software implemented fixes are effective,
- Track down customer satisfaction and warranty costs reduction impact.
- Be the motor control quality technical expert.
- Warranty part return tear-down and analysis
- Field incident scrambles and investigation
- Cultivate a synchronized relationship with cross-functional stakeholders including Design and Software Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Service and Quality with the objective of driving issues to a resolution.
- Lead Cross-Functional Teams to resolution of complex and/or chronic issues for motor control in an accelerated pace
- Consolidate inputs and material from cross-functional teams to create presentations and reports for internal and external stakeholders.
- Communicate progress and status at all leadership levels including the C-Suite
- Be responsible for Quality Objective achievement (3Months-in-Service, Consumer Reports) for motor-control.
- Represent the Voice of the Customer (VOC) and drive feedback to Design and Manufacturing Engineering teams in order to catalyze improvements in product, process & equipment.
- Define and implement inspection metrics, constantly striving for higher quality.
- Vehicle audits
- Feed market quality experience into new model design specifications
- Ability to travel domestically and internationally as required.
You Bring:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Technical field – Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Management or similar
- Technical Master’s degree preferred.
- At least 4 years of relevant development and technical experience in electric motors, inverters, control algorithms, gear trains, and other relevant systems
- Outstanding technical problem-solving abilities based in a strong grasp of engineering fundamentals.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proactive mindset and strong work ethic
- Ability to thrive in a fast paced, rapidly changing environment.
- Experience working with data acquisition systems.
- Strong technical understanding of the fundamentals of electric powertrain systems, including electric machines, power electronics, inverters and control algorithms.
- Systems approach to engineering product development, including demonstrated ability to bring together teams from different engineering disciplines.
- Demonstrated experience of engineering problem solving
- Strong analytical and quantitative skills with ability to drive decisions using data and metrics.
- Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills
- Goal-oriented self-starter and motivator
- Field quality experience
Preferred Qualifications:
- 7 years of relevant development experience in electric motors, inverters, motor controls or other relevant systems
- Automotive powertrain experience - especially development of EV powertrain control systems
- Experience in two full product development cycles for EV motor control and inverters
- Previous direct involvement in product launch for mass production
- Experience with DFMEA, 8D, DOE other structured evaluation and problem-solving methodologies
- Six Sigma / Black Belt
- Technical Master’s degree
- OEM experience
Flexibility in work schedule is required (to include evenings and weekends, as needed)

Salary Range: The compensation range for this position is specific to the locations listed below and is the range Lucid reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for the position taking into account the wide variety of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions, including job-related knowledge; skillset; experience, education and training; certifications; and other relevant business and organizational factors.
California (Bay Area) - $115,000- 165,000 per year
Additional Compensation and Benefits: Lucid offers a wide range of competitive benefits, including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, disability insurance, vacation, and 401k. The successful candidate may also be eligible to participate in Lucid’s equity program and/or a discretionary annual incentive program, subject to the rules governing such programs. (Cash or equity incentive awards, if any, will depend on various factors, including, without limitation, individual and company performance.)
