Engages with customers at a department head and director level to identify High Value Problems affecting customer's ability to achieve technology milestones.Provide technical leadership in developingDVS solutions across BUs to address customer High Value Problems.
Actively engage with Account GM on setting multi-year strategy for the account
Drives the adoption of new technology at the customer site.Manages a team that works closely with customers to demonstrate and introduce new technologies at customer sites, through Demos, on site evaluations, Joint Development Programs and new tool qualifications.
Manage PSEs providing highly visible customer support through the performance of on-site installation, as well as any necessary diagnoses, troubleshooting, service, and repair of complex equipment and systems.
Responsible for technical development of entire PSE team at assigned location.Mentor new managers.Implement appropriate training plans to enhance strength of the team

This position originates, develops and executes the most complex technical projects and influences future technology and product strategy.Involved in prioritizing technology programs and projects which may include more than one technology field.Substantial knowledge, judgment and intuition is required for those technical challenges that may not have an identified solution by customer, competitors or within industry.Works on critical complex issues that impact longer term product development and business success measured by three or more of the following: incremental revenue growth, market share increases, key customer penetrations, time to market improvement and commercial value of the work.
Within safety guidelines originate, design, perform, collect data, analyze and compile reports on unusually complex engineering experiments and provides solutions which are highly disruptive and ingenious.
Develop innovative solutions as part of substantial track record of significant technology contributions.Widely recognized internally as one of the company's top experts in their field, consult within the company to solve the most difficult technical problems. Conceive and implement new technology, normally named as primary inventor on numerous critical patents and recognized through multiple awards and/or published papers within the last five years. Recognized by customers and/or industry forums.Decisions impact major product development programs and business success at the division/segment level. Decisions may also impact the strategic direction and R&D investment for the group or company.
Leads through contribution to the development of new principles and concepts.As a technical role model toApplied's technical and engineering community, this position acts as a mentor to guide less experienced engineers. Typically is involved in judging the approach and verifying the validity of technical strategies
Deep subject matter expert who consults with management and customers on exceptionally complex technical issues.Viewed as a company resource for specific technology and interacts with the engineering community internally and externally (where appropriate) based on business need. Represents Applied on industry boards/consortia, seen as a thought leader in area of expertise, regarded by customers and external leaders as an expert and thought leader in their field
In most cases, this is an Individual Contributor role.May manage a small group of engineers and/or post doctoral researchers(no more than 8 maximum) who assist in performing research or experimentation.

U.S. Salary Range:
$196,000.00 - $269,500.00
The salary offered to a selected candidate will be based on multiple factors including location, hire grade, job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and with consideration of internal equity of our current team members. In addition to a comprehensive benefits package, candidates may be eligible for other forms of compensation such as participation in a bonus and a stock award program, as applicable.
For all sales roles, the posted salary range is the Target Total Cash (TTC) range for the role, which is the sum of base salary and target bonus amount at 100% goal achievement.
