The role:
We are looking for a passionate and experienced senior level technologist to join our team of data engineers and data analysts, helping the company roll out its new data foundation and drive value add from data both for Proxymity and our clients.
The successful candidate will contribute to the every day execution of the data technology vision and work closely with the Tech Lead for Data and the other data engineers to execute on the data strategy, implementing key data solutions. The candidate will be a contributor to the design and build out of our data architecture as well as be a reference for other data engineers.
Responsibilities:
- Key contributor to Proxymity’s data architecture implementation: Help build out the data lake, data warehouse and data ingestion setup.
- Be a source of knowledge and share your experience in data engineering with your team members.
- Collaborate with other data engineers, the tech lead and Product on achieving our next gen data architecture vision of reporting and insights through the implementation of robust data ingestion mechanisms
- Adhere to software development methodologies and practices, fostering an environment of excellence.
- Demonstrate ownership and technical excellence across all data-related initiatives, ensuring a culture of quality, openness, collaboration, and innovation.
- Demonstrated track record as a Senior Data Engineer.
- Experience and understanding of data lakes, data warehouses and data modelling technologies.
- An ownership mentality and a strong result-driven attitude to workload.
- Competence and understanding of the AWS ecosystem specifically data specific infrastructure - robust Infrastructure as Code (IaC) skills.
- Strong SQL skills - essential.
- Strong coding skills - Python or Java.
- Git or equivalent source control systems should hold no secrets to you.
- A strong advocate of unit testing principles.
- Well versed in industry best-practices for software development, including CI/CD methodologies and tooling.
- Analytical mind and business acumen.
- Meticulous attention to detail, coupled with organizational prowess, thoroughness, and a methodical approach.
- Good communication skills in English.
- Outstanding collaborative attitude, reflecting an approachable and team-oriented demeanour.
- Experience working in the fintech industry - Advantageous but not essential.
- Familiarity with BI tooling, data science and machine learning - Advantageous but not essential.
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant technical discipline - Advantageous but not essential.
